27km on Sunday's Dad's on bikes ride.

Even took the trailer off into the local forest that had the mountain bike trails in until Forestry did their usual careful logging job...

And the other bike:

Omnium Mini-Max with a Thule Yepp seat on it.

We stopped in at the Medieval camp that has been set up in the clearing in the forest, and the girls had a run around.

Put mine to work cleaning her trailer when we got home

May have another Dad joining if the trailer I spotted on Marketplace is any good, so that'll be good fun.

Forestry have approached us about getting our trails sanctioned, I don't really see the point given they'll reshape the entire hill when it's all logged.
They seem to have staff who only have passion fingers...

We go out to the bigger (hardwood) State forest quite often as we've got friends with an adjacent property, and the state that Forestry have left it in after logging it is insane; mate says his Dad would be turning in his grave at the state they've left it in, as he used to be a logger and sawmiller so would selectively and carefully take what was needed/good/right to log.

Gravel ride with my daughter around the southwest part of Mount Desert Island. Perfect weather for a ride.

Due to the arrival of #2 4 days ago, no riding at the moment (+ crap weather), I decided to treat myself to more things to build...

Again it was Lego that was the tool of choice (I'd got some Technic for #1 but nothing tempted me this time):

It's a really nice little set for those who have a Lego mind - not too many over-moulded parts.

Dinner and a milkshake with Karen. Generally been out and about in the city on the various whips quite a bit, but haven’t thought to post about it. No “epic” rides, but moving on two wheels is fun no matter what. Found out my new front rack bag can hold a milkshake, which is something I’ll utilize more often.

And yes, the bag is made out of Vietnamese Tiger Stripe camo fabric. That bike is my tactical randonneur.

Ibarra, Ecuador. 2 hours north of Quito. The good things with those roads so close to home is that when your tired of climbing, you turn around and let yourself go down.
Insane grade on that road, but very beautiful!

Yep, I rode this morning. Did the 14+ miler at fastest pace of the year. I was a little surprised at this as my legs were tired in a few spots due to yesterday’s spin workout. But, hey, I’ll take it 😁.

Bonus animal sighting. About 5 feet off the trail, I saw a doe nursing its very young fawn. As soon as the doe saw me, she bolted. Leaving the fawn on its own. The fawn then sunk to the ground, legs splayed out and disappeared into the spackled leaf litter.

Like a large camouflaged meatloaf. 😃
