Thanks guys :)

Yeha i am super stoked :)

Adjsuted the metering height on my single barrel and holy better power!!!!

Bad news, i stripped a stud tightening the carb to the manifold.

Tried to pull the stud, but it is basically impossible to get a nut on it to pull it out, and vice grips are a no go.
Put the carb back on and now it squeals with one bolt tightened ( vacuum leak i would guess haha, high pitch like air getting sucked through )

grrrr, kinda pissed at myself.

Looks like i will need to get it into the shop to have the stud pulled , bummer!

a late christmas present ( early b-day present she tells me as well ) from the wife :D

Sorry I made her pay so much then. ;) I'm hoping the color is a lot lighter when you see it in person. That and a wrench clip and points file and you're all set. Good score! :)

if you have access to a hand torch, propane or better yet Mapp, remove the carburetor and size up your vice grips to the stud. with the vice grips off, heat up the stud til it's red hot, then remove the stud.

Where you the one selling the bag or bidding? :)

I found a wrench clip at shucks that is identical to the OEM ( but yellow )
They sell these five kit wrench sets for cheap that have the identical clips ( as far as i can tell ) Super stoked!!!!

:D

Very cool Destin. yours has a few of the missing parts I need.. Hint Hint. That's one great Woman you have there! A keeper for sure!

Bidding, I was the five second snipe, hoping the kit was under the radar and no one really noticed.

I hate to tell you Destin...but...since you removed all the tools from the wrapers...it's lost all its value...too bad...i'll give you $10 to take it off your hands :D

I take it that is included shipping.:grinpimp:

Hi guys

Been messing with my rig and i have this damn illusive miss that fires preiodically i Can not figure it out, pulled the dist cap to check my points, looks good.

THEN

I look inside the cap, and holy fxxxing gouge, the plastic is gouged and it look like a few of the metal points in the cap are being chewed up on the same side ( 3 of em peep the photos ) The dist cap is new OEM vacuum advance

The dist shaft does not appear to be wobbling side to side, but it does have some play up and down vertically when ya pull up on it ( slight )

The dist cap did have some movement to it, but nothing I would think that would gouge the hell out of the cap.

SOOOooo bad cap, or do i have a larger problem?
I have an extra OEM cap, but i do not want to put it on until i know for sure what the problem is...

Thanks guys

Looks like the cap was poorly fitted, could have been at an other time and put right when they heard a noise. Vertical play is normal for an older dizzy, you can check for a bend shaft.

how do you check for a bent shaft?

It is a new OEM dist, but it might be bent, ****

Take it out and spin it (not to fast) with a drill from the bottom or put everything on and listen if the rotor hits the cap (with dizzy taken out).

You might be able to see the dwell angle woble when running idlle but I think it runs to fast to notice.

Ok, gonna have to wait for a nice dry day and pull it out and give that a whirl.
I do not have my garage space iwas renting anymore hehe :(

Would those worn metal points in the cap cause the secondary missing i was getting ( or possibly a bent dist shaft ) ?

Hard to say, does it occure at high or low revs?
