Hey everyone!

I'm providing a quick update...

I've got the truck running great, princess buttercup has made it through the harshest part of our winters here, she's been my daily driver around town and we've been on a couple longer day trips (100+ Miles), everything has been fairly smooth for a total of about 2,500 miles...

I'd identified the problerm as the cruisertrash parts fusible link replacement part and don't consider myself the type of person to normally go out of my way to complain but strongly advise against buying this product, this was marketed as a direct replacement for a fusible link designed for the needs of beginners like myself who lack the foundational knowledge, my trust in this product led me down a dark road, cost me a small fortune, countless hours and frustration, my last thought was to examine this part, appears as though mine was incorrectly assembled, currently, my fusible link's installed inline with the cruiserTRASH part, making it redundant, there were lines running directly from the battery to power the rear taillight circuit for awhile, to get myself to work, this way have caused some damage but haven't had the opportunity to confirm yet, the unit was installed correctly, see my posts above about electrical problems, nobody really suspected the cruisertrash part, to anyone considering buying this, don't fall into the same trap.

Thank you for everyone's help and suggestions, my recommendation would have to be avoid this product, find a replacement fusible link or build your own, even a novice like myself can figure out the intricacies, take full responsibility and gained an education in the electrical system throughout this process, there's no hard feelings, just want to raise awareness to prevent anyone from making the same mistake!

Ouch! Did you contact CruiserTrash about this? My FLRK for my 62 is working great and he was very helpful with my issues.

This makes no sense. Your vehicle has been bent over backwards by yourself, and you're going to blame one of the parts that you bought to fix the original problem? The problem existed before the FLRK, according to your original post.

First off, PM me and I'll take the FLRK back on a full refund. No questions asked. I'll email you a pre-paid return shipping label.

Second, I've posted this over and over again on the forums, social media, and in the instruction sheets included with my products: I'm ALWAYS here. Reach out. Mud, Instagram, FaceBook, email. When a problem with one of my products goes deep I usually wind up on a phone call or video chat with the person until the situation is made right. I'm always happy to help and support. When I first got into Cruisers it was a 60 and the community lifted me up and guided me on the right path. That's all I've tried to do on this thread from the jump, and what I try to do with my little parts business. Call it karma or giving back or whatever. I enjoy it. Did you reach out? To be frank I have the memory of a goldfish sometimes, but I don't recall digging into the FLRK install with you. I may be wrong.

Third, I will say that statistically, the odds of the FLRK causing any ongoing issues are very, very small. That's not meant to be insulting - I'm just speaking mathematically. I've sold hundreds of these kits and the worst issues I run into are which way is up on the bracket. Could I have wired something wrong or done a bad crimp? Absolutely. But that would be exceedingly rare. If that truly was the case we could have figured that out with some 1-on-1 support.

I have some questions for you below. These aren't accusatory, they're honest. Data will help me better understand what's going on. If I made a mistake the data will reveal that and help me improve. That may or may not be the case here, but it would be good to find out.

1. What new issues presented themselves after installing the FLRK?
2. Were any of the same issues you were originally solving for present immediately after you installed the FLRK?
3. Other than having some circuits bypassing the FLRK and using the stock fusible link inline with the FLRK, what other non-standard wiring did you have going on?
4. How exactly was it assembled incorrectly when you received it?
5. What further damage did the FLRK cause?
6. How did the FLRK cost you a small fortune?

I think those will get me up to speed analyzing the situation. Thanks.

Always hate to see folks call vendors out in a public forum without first talking to the vendor and giving them a chance to make things right. It just ain't cool and it can unfairly tarnish a vendor's reputation.

@CruiserTrash and his parts enjoy a great reputation in the Land Cruiser world, and given that your truck's electrical systems have been, by your own description, subject to extreme hackery both before and during your ownership, I too would be quite curious about how you were able to definitively trace the issue to his FLRK.

@MisterShadyNasty . While I am acquainted with @CruiserTrash I have not purchased parts from him…and after going thru you posts and issues, if he had something I needed, I would not hesitate one minute before buying & sending my hard earned money to him.

His post # 24 is an EXCELLENT response to a customer that is having issues with a purchased product. I suggest you…even now…follow up with @CruiserTrash and then get back to us.

I’m not necessarily suggesting you are in for digesting some ‘humble pie’, but I believe the odds are leaning that way.👍

currently, my fusible link's installed inline with the cruiserTRASH part, making it redundant
.....
the unit was installed correctly
I mean, if you still had your fusible links in the circuit, then it wasn't installed correctly. Or are you saying that putting your fusible links in series with the FLRK fixed your issue? If so, that doesn't make sense either.
