This thread is pretty cool. I appreciate what LEDs bring to the table and while I don't want EVERYTHING to be LED, I do want most of my lights to be replaced. Thank you for such a well documented job.

I may have gone a little overboard with the LEDs but some like their 80 to look like a 7-11 in Reno.

Probably been answered numerous times. Has anyone any luck with the factory dimmer after replacing with LED in instrument cluster ?
I have swapped in several bulbs and all have dimmed. The key is finding ones that put out the same light as everything else.
I didn't see an answer to this but why can't the bulbs in the clock be replaced?
There are none, the display itself lights up.

Hmmmm that's nice and all but the one that came stock has alarm and timer. Nor really necessary but I use at least once a month. Guess just gonna have to do research and modding.

Thanks to TreerootCO for this thread and everyone's input and updates, I'll be changing all the LED lights on my 1997 lx450...ordering today...minus the soldering...not that DIYer......but hope to learn. I'll post my pics once all is up and running. Thanks again!
I replaced most all the LED per the OP. I have one issue: The key ring stays on all the time. When I open the door it goes bright but then it dims to just a glow at the time the incandescent would go off-the incandescent bulb does not do this. It is kinda cool but I am guessing it will drain the battery.
Anyone else have this issue? Or do you think it is related to a 'leak' elsewhere? BTW

Im half way through some dash mods including replacing all the bulbs and its winter here and dark just after 5pm and im sick of driving with no dash lights.
Can someone give me an idea how to remove the dimmer switch from the dash surround so i can plug it back into the loom until im done?
Ive had a galf arsed go at it but dont want to break it.
The other question is im fitting a viper alarm so ive got keyless entry. Woudl a US toyota security light work with the alarm to keep it looking stock?

aloha! Thank you very much for this thorough post. One question: for the 194 cluster bulbs, do they come with the twist-in pieces, or do I just pull out the old bulbs from the stock piece and replace with the new?

Has anyone replaced the low fuel light and or low oil light with LED's? I've done mine but now they just stay on constantly.
