Dead clutch pedal, can't get into gear

I am seeing some leakage on the ground in the middle of the truck however. Wonder if that could be it.

did you look directly above the puddle on the ground? that would be most likely where it is coming from.

Please refer to this truck as an FJ40 or '40. Calling it an FJ tells us you think this is an FJ Cruiser.

That fact that we are in a 40 and 55 series forum should make identification of my truck pretty self-explanatory. You're the only one who actually cares.

Sounds like the slave cylinder, easy(and cheap) to replace and a good place to start to learn to work on what appears to be a very nice fj40 that your dad had and is now yours.

Thanks, I may just tackle it myself after researching this. Appreciate the info y'all.

@TacoJonn I can tell you don't care about this but most cruiserheads do. It's sort of an initiation thing to learn that the slang for these trucks is just "40" -- not "FJ". Take it with a grain of salt, but don't think that Land Cruiser enthusiasts 'don't care' about that. We're unapologetic zealots with this hobby :D :D :D. Anyway, best of luck sorting out your clutch problem; it shouldn't be too hard.

Ok, some people may care. I don't. Always referred to it as "The FJ". It's shorthand, just how how I call my Tacoma my "Taco". There should be no issues with ambiguity considering this is a specialized forum and we are in the 40 and 55 series forum.
I could call it a Land Cruiser too but technically that could be confused with the $90,000 behemoth Toyota still sells today. This is a just a distraction for a specialized topic. If people want to debate the merits of what they affectionately call their Toyotas, I'd suggest starting a thread in a chit-chat section.

MUD is a community not an entitlement. As such there are certain norms, etiquette and nominclature used by the community to support, encourage and sometimes rib each other. If you choose to get butt hurt over something so trivial then maybe this isn't the community for you. Good luck with your 40.

BTW, the reason Land Cruisers are referred to by the number not "FJ" is because every gas engined Land Cruiser since the first FJ25 through the FJZ80 (in the US) has used the FJ letters. The F designates the engine family and has nothing to do with the body around it.

Not butthurt and happy to be here! Just reiterating the fact that it is a distraction to the subject at hand to go off into nomenclature tangents on a tech forum. There is a sub-forum so such things. Here, I will provide the link.

Chit-Chat

C'mon man..... Just roll with it. Based on this thread you're going to need a lot of help with this truck but you'll be hard pressed to get it if you keep thumbing your nose at some of the more knowledgeable and helpful members on this board. The "FJ" thing is certainly trivial but as the saying goes, when in Rome.... Everyone posting here knows there's a chit chat section, pointing it out as you have just seems brash.
