Updates:

- I gutted the entire stereo, including factory wiring, and will be installing a marine system soon.
- C02 is in and full, BONUS: I found a company that fills 4 miles from my house that my neighbor does the accounting for.
- CB is back up and running, ran a new line and a new mount to the rear bumper.

PRP (Premium Racing Products, I believe) makes both preemie (carseat sized) and teen sized five point buckets. I had bought a set of both for an old Jeep project after we were pregnant with our forth, and ended up ditching the project for my 80.

These are built with tabs to bolt into a cage, which means the entire seating system is tied to the cage, rather than part to the cage and part to the body. The seats cost $199/ea last I checked, and the teen size is perfect for booster sized kids.

First two pics are the toddler sized, last pic is the teen sized seats just laying on the floor of my old Jeep, which gives you a size idea. "Teen" really isn't right, it's really the booster seat years up to about age 10-12, depending on the size of the child.

hmm, I wonder how comfortable those would be for the occassional adult passenger?

The teen seats would be too small, unless maybe you are talking about a very petite woman.

Obviously money is an issue on all of these things, but you could build two sets of rails/brackets for the cage mounted seat mounts, and bolt in the teen seat for the kids and an adult sized for when you are wheeling with an adult passenger. You could use the same five point for both, I'd think.

Shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes to swap out before a trip, and then as your kids get too big for the teen seats you are already set for the adult.

That is exactly how I would do it so my kids can grow with the rig rather than the rig having to grow with the kids.

I will have more pics soon. I am sending it in this week for the top fitting. Had a complete custom design after sitting with the guy for several hours and measuring and discussing what would work.

Should be neat!

I can't believe I am only now seeing this thread. It makes me want to take a large rock up onto my roof and throw it on my 80... wonder if the wife will notice :hhmm:

Dan do you have any old pics of your compressor mounted and your two tanks??

I dont, but it was PS front of the engine compartment (Slee bottle kit) and soft lines run along the frame rail to an old tank system from those large rolling flat compressors for carpentry, etc.

Well, I am about 3 days away from seeing the soft top...can't wait :)

After the soft top the next project is to line the interior, re-seal the oil pan gasket (rear arch leak), and maybe some dual batteries.

I think that will get me done for a while. Need to sort out camping gear, storage, etc. next!

Soft top should be done tomorrow.

Sending the truck to ACC again for bed lining and new oil pan seals (rear arch leak).

Still debating about head gasket R&R proactively...will decide within a few weeks.

Oh, and camping gear is underway :)

Top is Done!!!

The top was finished and picked up today. There are side panels that zip in and provide clear sides that button to the doors.

Also, the rear panels are all removable so as to only have a bikini top. I love it!

LOL, nice keychain!

That top is nothing short of awesome! Looks like a quality job. Congrats!

Hey- fix that tail light!

That looks like a nice top. Did you have them put in a plastic sun-roof? Now you're going to have to buy one of those 'flitz' balls (or whatever they are called) that go on a power drill to keep plastic looking 'clear' when it starts to age and get hazy.

Very nice Dan!!! ready for a lil whee action soon i hope.

Looks Good. So I guess that means we will see you tomorrow?

I have to hold off on tomorrow...work decided to not fund my bonus :(

I will be in soon for at least the pan work.
