and i have a air lock in the cooling system....

Figured it might happen i cant get it out. Put it up on ramps and let it idle for 20 mins and still get weak heat out of the heater. Im pretty confident its air in the heater core. The inlet pipe in hot but the return is cold. Rear heatere has normal heat. Whats the best way to get it out? Or easiest i should say.

Well no luck getting the air out. Top of the rad doesnt even get warm. Rear heater gets great heat.

I fill it and get the air out by the heater valve on the cowl

i poor about 8L of coolant before disconnecting this hose , it was dry but as soon i poor more coolant it flow by the disconnected heater hose , so i reconnect it and finish the filling with a custom funnel like your , after i start it with no cap for 10 minutes , top it , cap on for a 5 minutes drive and all the heaters hoses were hot , i see no leak , next step is to drive it so the thermo open and make sure air is all bleed , not the best day for this , -22C this morning

Interesting my system was never drained. It has to be air locked in the radar core. Hot goes in but the outlet is cold coming from it. Great heat getting to rear heater also

Did you clean your rear heater core? my rear heater was making nice heat before my work on the cooling system , but it was clogged , I got it free flowing by holding the outlet under the tap on the kitchen sink , some gray stuff and kind of black sand came out first, at the end it was clear water. , inlet and outlet line get equaly hot now

Looks like i got it all sorted out. Let it run for a good30 mins up on ramps then took it for a good rip for 20 mins. Opened and closed the valve on the firewall cause its alomost seized up. Squeezed every hose about 20 times while running and finally started getting good heat and all lines are warm. Added a good 1.5L of coolant after all this so it made room somewhere in the system haha.

Heater restoration now a full success!!!

My girls xmas present finally showed up only a month after being lost and refunded lol. My 2 year old loves my 42 and one day we were out for a walk and she saw a jeep and said theres a landcruiser i said nah those are jeeps they are wack!

So now she is almost 4 and evertime we see a jeep she says there is a "wack jeep" haha so i made her and my 1 year old shirts for xmas.

@Varty Yo, I know the post was a couple years back, but do you have dimensions for the hardtop cart you built? I'm trying to figure out a similar solution, thanks!

Truck looks awesome! Glad you went for 33s. I always thought that heater sucked...

Yes it still looks great from 30ft lol. The prairie air has sure made a few more "bubbles" pop out.

Sadly ill be pulling the heater again. After having it tuned off all summer and finally getting around to driving it after 3 months on the road the core sprung a leak. It was even cleaned and pressure tested.

So next question is there a universal off the shelf heater core a guy can buy or is it a OEM item only?
