I just thought your were getting at the solid front axel is way better then independent suspension again. Which I do agree for crawling. But there is a reason when I went wheeling in South Dakota why the jeep club from here called the Toyota club to show them around rather then the jeep club and it wasn't because they were all broke down either..lol

:worms::popcorn:

I asked them why they didn't call up the jeep club instead at the trail head and they said they are rude and the Toyota guys are very helpful. And that seems to be my experience thus far. Though not all are that way. I was just discussing this with a friend at work who doesn't wheel except for atv's and He owns a dodge truck. his interpretation is jeep people are just as bad as fly fisherman. I laughed pretty hard. So I guess what I am trying to say is there are rude people on both sides of the spectrum.

I am glad I have a victory. Can't stand those Harley guys! Lol.
Anyway when I went, all the trails were quick and not much for lines of any sort. We lined up at a hard spot in fins and things and a dirt bike got mad for waiting so he buzzed around us and tried to zip on up. He darn near flipped the thing and look like an idiot. That was really the only problem. It's not like Easter jeep safari at all. From what I have read the jeep event can get like 50 or more rigs on a trail all in a line waiting. That would be no fun. Rising sun really does a great job with this event I think. We stayed at the koa and it really was not busy there at all the year we went. It's also nice to have the guys who have ran this trail over and over that they know what lines even for different vehicles. I am not a big fan of the scenery as I think colorado has the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I may be going home to see my parents that weekend depending on the weather in North Dakota. So I guess I will be a maybe until then.

What Victory? I used to own a Vegas. Cool bike. Too many close calls, so I sold it.

I'm still a maybe for Moab too, but really want to go.

I have overheard and experienced more Jeep prejudices than any other, except maybe Harleys... I always gravitated toward non-denominational wheeling, it is fun to see how people "overcome" OEM engineering at the larger events with the large variety of vehicles.

Props to anyone who enjoys going out and doing stuff regardless of the vehicle type or number of wheels. Just don't be a di%#.

I like the idea of a local off season run for the wheeling. Big events for the social aspect, not so much wheeling.

Hey Luke, sounds like you've got another member for "Gears n' Beers". :D

Bret, couldn't agree more. People get hung up on the silliest stuff. Let's have fun wheeling and not worrying so much about what your wheeling. I saw a cool Mitsubishi in Woodland Park yesterday. I think I'm gonna hunt him down and see if he wants to go wheelin'.

I've never once met a friendly guy wheeling a Delorean...

...always talking about their gullwing doors and flux capacitors.

I think it's time to start prepping for Moab:)

Was it the silver Montero on 285's with firefighter plates? I love that thing, makes me want one. :)

I still think there's a lot of animosity towards "Jeep people" from other groups that makes these certain groups pull out of context whatever they need to make the "Jeep people" seem worse for the benefit of their own story telling. I've personally run across a lot of great guys, and a lot of DB's out there on the trail, vehicle choice doesn't seem to play a factor in which they were. Think whatever you like... But remember this one thing--Toyotas are allowed at Easter Jeep safari, but Cruise Moab doesn't allow Jeeps. Who's the stuck up crowd now???

Anyway, tired of this :worms: so I'll shut up now.

Well I own a jeep and I don't like jeep people. The guys with fj's who decide to change over to jeep usually don't get along with the jeep crowd. The last trail run I was on with you a "jeep" guy told me I need to sell my fj and get a jeep next time I do a real trail. So if I ever get this jeep built right I will wheel more with Toyota guys as I have never got any flack for bringing my jeep out to an fj meet.

That's the one! It was rolling up on me and I had no idea what it was. Saw the big "Mitsubishi" sticker on the rear window. That thing was cool.

As for the Jeep thing, I used to be a Jeep guy (circa 1995)....

....and ran with Jeep guys, a ford ranger guy, a Toyota mini truck guy, etc.

Me too...

So... back to the idea of a Moab Trip. I'll get back to work next week and look into getting some time off. As for the "Cruise Moab" vs. a "CLC Off Season Trip" discussion, personally... I'd be up for both! I've only been to Utah once but loved it.

I'm totally in for a earlier CLC trip. Cruise Moab is on Shanna's birthday every year it seems. And I've been there in the hot season and it's not as much fun. However the FJ ute will be making an appearance that week so...
I'll happily wheel with anyone as long as they don't drive a Volvo or a Subaru! Can't stand those. (With the exception of a few of course, right Leon?)
