We can meet up before hand if there's anyhing you want to throw in my truck to save weight as well. I'll have plenty of room.

I think I'm good. Thanks for the offer. I am bringing a little bit of firewood, probably enough for 1 night. If you want to bring more, I have plenty at my house if you want to pick some up.

I'd stick with 50 to save the abuse on the 80.

I will be heading out early ~6:30 on Wednesday, taking 115 to 50, and 50 out to Grand Junction. I'm expecting to reach Moab around 2:30-3:00 and I will look for you guys at Slickrock, or just give you a call.

I spent last night freeing 6 rusty bolts that hold my trailer hitch on. I'm planning on removing the hitch for trail runs and leaving it with the camper. I always get hung up on that thing, and this gets me 7" of additional ground clearance under the rear bumper, and significantly increased departure angle. Heading out to buy some new bolts for it now.

True Value is the only place in town that I've been able to find those bolts.

I'll pack in some more wood when I pick up my trailer from the in-laws house.

Once I get into Moab, I'll let you know where I got a site at.

I'm READY for CM! Can't wait to head out in the morning! See you guys there.

You shouldn't hit any bad traffic on 50. Only 2 sections had major construction. 50 is gonna be worse west to east than east to west. More uphill heading east. I'll let us know where I set up camp when I get there.

Made it home after CM. Cameron and I had a blast running trails in The Frank despite a few difficulties, mostly from wheeling in larger groups. There were tons of interesting trucks there, great people, good weather (a bit hot), and beautiful scenery.

Between the 2 of us, we have a few hours of video and around 2000 pictures of the trip. I'll try to sort through this in the next few days and post up the best ones.

I'm happy to report that my only trail damage was a little lost bumper and slider paint, a little bit of play in a tie rod end, and a broken CB antenna.

Right on man, glad you guys made it back in one piece. Look forward to seein' some pics.

I have like zero pictures from this. But I had a ton of fun on the trails. I'll do a bit of a recap on the trails:

Golden Spike: Super long day. Accessed by running Poison Spider Mesa, run GS, then exit Goldbar Rim. Lots of fun obstacles. Only bit of trail damage came from Bodysnatcher on my passenger quarter panel. It blends in with the rest of them though. FJ40s had the most issues on obstacles (mainly the walls and ledges). The FJ80s in the back made everything look easy.

Hells Revenge: Fun watching Slee's 200 series run through this trail. Also had the president of Marlin Crawler in the back of the pack as well. Not terribly hard, but lots of fun. I'm waiting for the video to surface of the 100 series going up Hells Gate... I didn't run Hells Gate or Escalator. One of the concessions I had to make to the wife if I ran this trail again lol

Cliffhanger: By far my favorite trail in Moab. Lots of pucker factor for those not use to being tippy in a rig. Thankfully I was well broken of that feeling when I went in September. Love this trail because there are lots of fun sections, with very little boring sections in between. From the minute you drop in from the road (and it's a good entrance) it gives you obstacles. CruiseMoab had quite an attrition rate, so this trail went from 20 vehicles to about 10, which gave us some time to play around in areas. My alternator plug came off somewhere during the trail and my truck died right before the 2 exit obstacles. Found the issue, got a jump from Reed, and was good to go. Climb out was challenging and fun. Had a FJ60 blow up the rear pinion on the exit. The owner is the one I acquired my short block from actually. Took 2 trucks winching, 2 anchoring, 2 snatch blocks, and a lot of time to pull him up.

Very little trail damage for me. But lots of trailer damage lol. Both lights on my trailer came out on Kane Creek Rd, as well as the grommets. Andrew was thankfully behind me to recover one. I ziptied them to the trailer and they were good to go. Then I had a brake hang up and roast itself to death. I pulled off the drum, and everything from inside fell out lol. Put it back together and made my way home. Nothing eventful from that point, just really crappy weather in some areas.

Time to fix up the trailer before the next haul with it!

Really fun wheeling with you guys on Cliffhanger. Thanks for the extended patients from all while we got Jackson up that last obstacle. For those that jumped in on the recovery, Justin & I are incredibly grateful. Hopefully we'll see many of you guys out on the trail this summer! Buena Vista anyone? http://www.stfoffroad.org/event-info.html

It was a pleasure being on the trail with you guys as leader/gunner. The Jackson fiasco was pretty interesting to say the least!

Haven't done anything but OCG in BV, so I might look at that. Our San Juan's trip is looking less and less likely with my impending move to NY in early July. Might as well knock out a few more trails before I have to submit to 'other' types of offroading in NY.

A quick report on each of the trails we ran:

FINS N THINGS: This was a fun intro to Moab. However, we were in a group of 16 trucks with some beginning wheelers and things moved VERY slowly. We were out all day, and I think we could have covered the trail in about 2.5-3 hours on our own/without any traffic. There are some good little climbs on the trail.

HELLS REVENGE: Awesome trail. We followed Slee and his team around at a good pace, but stopping at Hell's gate and the Escalator made this a fairly long day. We had an absolute blast on this run. This was the perfect level of difficulty to challenge my driving and the truck's capabilities. Lots of steep, intimidating climbs and drops!

KANE CREEK CANYON: This is one tough trail. I thought I was taking it down a notch from Hell's revenge for the Saturday run, but this was much more difficult. Most of the trail is running along, in, and across a creek in the canyon bottom. There is a very challenging climb out of the canyon and I got a little hung up twice on the way up. It took about 2 hours to get our group of 7 trucks up the climb. Overall, I had a great time on this trail, but the climb out is a bit much for a truck on <35" tires. However, our leader, myself, and the trail gunner (in a 100) all made it on 33's. If I go back to Moab, I would run another slickrock trail instead of this one, even though it was nice to have a change of scenery.
