Kane Creek Cruise Moab 2005. There are some spots that have a little more water than this, but not much
Kane.webp

last year, there was one creek crossing that was frame high, but that's not common.

yeah but if you get off the trail, which was changed quite a bit with last years rains and you can find a couple of big holes, I know went over the hood before I reassesed the situation, not many holes that deep but I know a few who have found them the hard way, one P/U had a seized motor a few years ago in the same hole.

that wasn't one of the two pickups that went up the stream was it? very illegal move.

I called Spanish Trail Campground today and made my reservations; the lady seemed a little grumpy when I mentioned I was bringing my Landcruiser on a trailer. She said everyone seemed to be doing that and they didn't have a lot of space. I asked her if there was someother out-of-the-way place I could park the truck and trailer and she said no. So I reserved an R.V. site. She did say that if you rent a tent site, you will have grass to camp on, but if you rent an RV site, you will be on gravel. That's ok with us, as I think we will stay in the back of our truck.

Hey Gary, great to hear from you and glad you are going to CM06! Maybe we will get to do a run together this year...which rig are you going to bring? ...such tough choices!

I ran that trail last year before CM and found the trail very torn up from the water flow and changing of the stream bed, what i thought was the trail was the stream bed, what was the trail was also at some points now the stream, so from the run I did the year before to last year was entirely a different run.
that being said I had not intention of doing anything illegal,

I'm a winner!
I won the PMC free CM piece of paper!
I won it at the Pigrun raffle, but that's another story.
Sure, this free registration is gonna cost me a grand in gas, but I can't pass it up.
So, how does this piece of paper work?

Thanks, wesintl. I'm afraid I wasn't clever enough to figure out how to cancel out the paypal part. Did not want to wait to register, did so today, hoping details can be worked out in due time.

http://risingsun4x4club.org/cruisemoab.asp is where the official information is. I included the information below but double check in case something has been updated or changed.

One of the best parts of Cruise Moab is hanging out at the campground after a great day of wheeling. The cottonwoods were a real pain last year and one of the reasons for the move to Spanish Trails Campground. I'll be staying at the campground and I hope others will as well. From what I know, Rising Sun is actively working with the owner's of the campground. There has been some issues with reservations but the Cruise Moab committee is aware and should have everything ironed out soon.

Thanks TR!!!

I've made reservations for a tent space on Spanish Trail Campground. They told me that they only had a few more spots available for people that want to camp and are taking their pooches with them. Just a heads up.

Regards

Alvaro

Question for the Rising Sun folks. Where are we going to park trailiers? At the Cottonwood Campground we used to park in the back of the lot next door. Will there be any provisions for trailer parking at Spanish Trails?

Thanks

no matter what camping turns out to be like, moab will be the time of your life!!! there's nothing as cool as hanging wth the mud cruiserheads that you are constantly chatting with, but never have really met.

Signed up at Spanish Trail this morning - the women said there is jeep group also staying there that week so she could not define the exact site number...

PS we'll be the ones with the chili lights and dueling iPods

Thanks for the heads up Alvaro ;)
