Just went for a test drive in our new auto a440f, 85 cruiser, just put new motor in and torque converter, went for a drive, travelled 10km give or take, went to go up a steady graveled incline when the gearbox started shifting down then loss complete drive in all gears as if it was stuck in neutral, no noises, no grinding nothing. Any suggestions of the cause?

Torque converter isn't seated properly.
How many miles are on the trans? Linkages all good and functional? You might drop the pan and see if something shook loose in there in the filter or valve body.

Oil levels fine, kick downs fine have been told torque converter maybe to short as its out of a 80series
Where are you? I have an a440f out of an 89 with 150 miles. Starting to slip a little but let me know if it would help

Western Australia we think we fixed it, torque converter was to short an in located from the pump
