or remove the spark plugs, tighten the alternator belt, then turn the engine via the power steering nut. Always in the same direction. If you overshoot the timing mark go around another 2 times. Don't back up.
I'm in the middle of doing this right now, but I'm unsure of which direction to turn the power steering nut. Clockwise?

Also there’s no need to tighten a belt. I always use the alternator nut because your on that side to see the viewing window at the flywheel already. I turn it toward the driver side. Stick your finger in #1 hole and feel for the air pushing against it. For #6 just go around once then on the next revolution stop at TDC for the second set.

He just means to use the PS pulley nut to turn the engine over. Doesn't matter which way. Or, if Hillary were a PS pulley nut, witch way.

Use a pun, go to jail.
Thanks for that advice. I'll PS clear of that witch. Hope I don't change directions and find another.

Thinking about it, to prevent loosening that PS pulley nut, I suppose turning clockwise is prudent, though you prolly won't put enough torque on the nut to loosen it, if the plugs are removed.

Keep it to the right and you'll be fine is what you're saying?
