Naw, I didn't even think to do that. I'll try that tomorrow after I shovel some more snow out of the way.

I do! My father painted that :) It looks pretty fantastic.

We took Rhea's 80 over to my brother's house just 1/2 mile away to go sledding with his family. Wouldn't you know it, the lockers wouldn't work. I exercise them every time I have it off pavement and have not had in issue with them in years. I can only guess that the cold affects them.

A pause between neighborhood winch extractions.

I'm getting more recovery action today as people begin to realize that they're just 2-3 blocks away from clear streets. Those are a tough couple blocks, though. Even locked up on 35s.

While my neighbors were shoveling out I was bouncing the 80 off the rev limiter plowing through the huge banks of snow plowed into our driveway. That got some looks... Unfortunately no pictures or video.

I got to play in my parents field where the snow was unmolested and right at about 24" deep. I was pretty impressed with the 80. The mud tires are terrible on the packed roads, but they did a pretty good job in the deep stuff. I found that lockers were pretty useless for what I was trying to do. I'm a fan of momentum and wheel speed rather than traction in the deep snow.

Only picture I have in the deep snow. Out for lunch in downtown Staunton.

Cruising the back roads looking for anything that hadn't been plowed. Only thing I found was a 4runner stuck about 8 feet out of his driveway in the ditch. I saved him a bunch of shoveling.

Airing down helped on Wed night while picking my daughter up from the Metro. No amount of airing down would have helped on Sunday when the snow was even with the bumpers....unless I had a plow blade on the front...which I didn't. I got about 50 feet into the cul-de-sac after several minutes of back and forth. I decided I wasn't needing to get out badly enough to keep that up for another 200 yards to reach badly plowed single track. I also did not want to be one of those knuckle heads blocking the road when the snowplow eventually does come through. The 40 was parked snugly in the carport behind two cars so I could not get it out for use as a recovery vehicle if I needed it. So, I spent the better part of Saturday and Sunday playing with my snow blower around the neighborhood.

Still digging out west of Harrisonburg. Got the tractor stuck a few times on the "driveway". Forgetting to put your vehicle in 4wd isn't just limited to cruisers. At one point when I was stuck, I realized the front axle wasn't turning, only both rears when I hit the locker.

How's that boiler working for ya?

I got my brakes fixed just in time and drove a bit on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. I am impressed with the 80.

We were the only ones on the street that made it out and back. Kinda felt like a celebrity waving to my neighbors.

Thanks guys now I'm realy kicking myself for not having My Junk running!

The streets in my neighborhood finally got plowed last night, so hopefully no more urban recoveries. I think my final total was 11 vehicles towed or winched out, including the mailman yesterday afternoon.

Can anybody beat that? :flipoff2:

This if from Saturday morning, before the worst of it came....my 100 on the right, and my wife's 200 on the left. I was bored, and sick of shoveling, so leaving the driveway untouched I did a little test to see which one could get up the driveway best. I just locked the center diff's and put them in drive, the 100 walked up ATRAC clicking the entire way. The 200 went about 6" and got stuck. Fun little experiment I guess...

I left Baltimore at 4 Friday made it across the blue ridge on 64 at top of the mountain drove under skyline drive heading home to wife and kids got home around 12:30 made it threw all that to get stck once on Sat in driveway and two times Sunday . but I don't consider it stuck till I give up and need a tug. No tugs were used !!!!

The 4runner with the rear locker kicked my Tundra's ass.

My spartan locked 1st gen 4runner kicked my 3rd gen's ass. I also didn't care as much about slamming through a snow bank in the old truck with the arb and bud built skid.

Damn proud of my parking spot monday morning.

Work parking lot was still untouched so I spent my first hour of work doing doughnuts and cutting some tracks. No pic or video of that...

And slowly chipping away at the snow banks on the side of the road.
