Well, I ended my journey of 3014 miles. My cable lockers look good and will go on the list to get refurbished for Chunk. I had a great trip but I'm looking forward to a good night's sleep tonight!
It was nice to see
@bdyer12 in KY (thanks for putting me and my dog up for the night), then @roma042987 ,
@Michael B,
@cruiserfj08 in Alabama. Thanks Roma for helping me change the rear diff oil on my truck and letting me crash there. Then get to hang with @ceylonfj40nut and his family to visit the "Elf barn" in Texas and stay over night at the house, that was really fun.
CD went with me up to
@joekatana 's place. Everything he described was spot on accurate and great stuff. I picked up my axles, a set of steel 80 series wheels, and another 12h-t/5 speed combo (because it was too good a deal to pass up imo). I had no idea what to use the 12h-t for...until now.
Part of my motivation to pick up my stuff vs ship it was to talk with Joe about finding me a potential project HZJ-73. Didn't have to go far, as we made a deal in one in the back yard! Needs an engine. Guess that settles where the 12h-t is going!
Now I really gotta get Chunk done, not simultaneous restos here.
The 73 doesn't look like much in the picture since the front clip is off from pulling the old engine but it has a nice solid structure and all the other parts I need.
On the way back I met Andy
@Voodoocruisers and saw his nice shop and some great Cruisers he qas working on. Looking forward to October at his place for the SSS#2 (Southern Swine Soiree) with my fj55.
Last stop was back to Bryans to drop off his 70 axle and pick up some more 80 wheels as well as the 3" exhaust he had made for his 60/12h-t combo, now to put on Chunk.
Anyway, guess I gotta go back to TX in a couple of months, yikes.
