Taken from the trial schedule thread:

so who all wants to go to chinaman's? I am on the fence about it and would probably want to camp if i go. Any thoughts. A group of wranglers is going to be going on the 29th this month i might try to hitch a ride and scope it out if there is any interest in going.

Cool. I'd be very interested to hear about that trip if you decide to go on the 29th.

the chinaman's trip will be epic. I don't think i've ever been there with this club. I admit that it will be tough for a few rigs, but the good news about chinaman's is that if you make the first 100 yards, you're in the clear. If you don't, you can catch a ride with me there are bigger, sharper rocks than most are used to, gonna be tough on the duratracs, lol. One of heather's ruined goodyears came at the hands of the chinaman last year. But don't let that scare you, we'll get through.

Matt, i might be up for camping. Have to wait until it gets closer to commit. I usually camp at browns creek when in that area, where the club camps for the bv weekend. Are you thinking about staying at the koa? Family? Without family?

I wanted to go until Rodney poo-pooed the trail, now......???

Well you got the date wrong it is supposed to be April not May haha. Must be an early April fools joke. Meet at Johnson's village and I would say the earlier the better to beet some of the crowds. So I would think either meet at 8 or a little later and do 10 to miss the crowds. I would probably bring the family and not sure if it would be koa or not yet. If we just did one night I would say no on koa.

Fixed it for ya...;)

What was heather driving when she was on chinaman's?

She took her 2012 wrangler though the whole first section of the trail on the stock Goodyear 32's. Caught her diff cover a few times, but no trouble. We got all the way to the whale's tail before Chuck's FJ60 decided to spit out two of its belts. She followed us out, but didn't come back to run the rest of the trail after the big 60 was fixed.

Don't listen to Rodney on that trail Travis. He just doesn't like driving out that far in his beat up 4runner, which is exactly the reason I sold mine. A drive like that is not much of a stretch for our rigs, camping would make it even better.

Very nice Luke. That is great for a stock jeep. You should ask Chuck and Mike if they want to go. Might be nice to have the bronco in front of me to give me tug once in a while. It will be slow going with a rig like mine and as long as you guys understand that I am leaning towards going. Here is the article of when I went a few years back.

So I am 98% committed to going. We will camp where the club does (browns creek). We are thinking of going up Friday night and coming back on Sunday. So who is all coming along on this epic journey. Let's see a show of hands

I am really going to try and be ready for this. I need to wire up lockers, build bumpers and sliders, and fix the caster. HMMMM. Chinaman is my favorite trail.

Cool Tony! Would love to see your rig in action.
