Made some "man tackle" bumps for the front!!!
Was looking at the 4 in bumps, but didn't wanna spend the cash.
The vet bills for our pup kinda put a huge dent in my checking...

THOSE LOOK GREAT ... I'll leave the other part alone

In attempts to turn the bump stops into tech, just check on them when wheeling. I extended my factory stops in a similar way (just not as long) and I've had some deflect/bend at the mounting base from some good wheeling.

I coaxed rusty dan out for a wee bit today...
Bumps worked great!

Lol... Yeah... There's not too much tech to talk about any more, THANKFULLY!!! Winding down the details now.
I'll keep an eye on it for sure. Fortunately, the bumps failing wouldn't necessarily equate to a ruined trip provided that the spring pack didn't go as a result. :0

Oooooh those bump stops make room for 38's or better :D

Looks great

38's are the max I'd go.
I'm leaning towards 37's though down the road.
The BFG mts that are on there are still basically new, so new tires are a ways away. Can't justify new tires yet!!

Rustys rig is taller somehow???
Can't quite figure out why that would be, but.
Not that it's good or bad, just an observation!

Looks like you got your first scrape on your front diff, congrats.

Lol!! Yeup! :)

lol at the no hood

Yeah... Still somewhat non committal. That "just in case" thing is still in the back of my brain!
Still gotta mount the wiper fluid can, secure the intake tube and loom some wire... Just easier not having to fight the hood. Theres no trans tunnel in yet either!

One more test run and you'll have to install both

Well.. Yeah!
I've done as much playing as I wanna do now, with it almost done. Time to buckle down and get the loose ands tied up so k can finalize and move on. Got a big run in the end of April and a lot of other crap to do for that.

Gotta get the full doors prepped for paint
Gotta get the soft top on
Gotta get cargo figured

Yawn.

When is the new rig going to start?

Looks about perfect.

You think the bases need to be thicker material? I'm about to make some...

If I were to guess, I'd say yes to the thicker material. Either the weld will fail, or the base will bend. For these, I used 3/16 plate. Well see how it does.
I did have to cut an angle in the square tube for it to hit the u bolt plate flat, so that will be additional stress on the base plate. Fortunately, i have the skills to make new ones if needed!!:)

Lol... Yeah right!!!
If I build anything else... It'll be a 4 runner like cube dweller. Only I'd do a later model.

Thanks man! I'm excited to get back in the Fray this year with ya's!!
