Rusty dan saved the day again!!!!
I was having an issue with the 4 low indicator light. When all connected, the LED was partially lit when it should be OFF! I effe'd around with it for 2 days. Tracked it down to where the two wires (the indicator and 4 low) converge to one.
He asked,,,"do you have power to the ECU?" I did not. I hooked the power up to the ECU and it worked as it should!!!! Now I can button up the column and such now that is figured out!!!

Thanks rusty!!!

If you want to thank me make sure I'm there when you light that beast up for the first time. I'll buy the Jack D.

DONE!!!!
Just need the cash to get the exhaust run and get fluids in it.

In the the interest of those who might find this thread while searching for low range indicator light or whatever I thought I'd document what we found out last night.

The ECU has an input from the low range switch, I assume it uses that information to modify fuel rate and trans shifting or something. I also assume that the microprocessor inside does not operate at 12Vdc so there must be some kind of buffers between the micro processor and the wiring harness. What was happening was the LED indicator we had hooked in parallel with the low range ECU input to the low range switch was lighting dimly when the ECU was powered off and the low range switch was open, this is because there was some leakage current into the ECU buffer. With the switch closed (grounded) the LED was bright. As soon as we applied power to the ECU the buffers came on and forced the input to a high logic state. The LED was completely off until the low switch was closed.

Wow..... Who woke you up?!?!? :)
Im on instant notification. Just needed a few minutes to sit down and do nothing for a minute.;)

Sadly.... This addiction is pretty much the reason for my existence. Hence, why I'm on here so much.

okay...
so I got the gauge panel buttoned BACK UP and the steering column is in hopefully for the last time. Checked and re checked that everything was working as far as I could without it running.

Here are the indicators...more for Michael since he requested them.
They are the two indicators off to the right of the gauge panel. Top (red) is 4 wheel indicator and the lower (green) is the 4 low indicator.

Man this crap takes a lot of time!!!!

First one is driving, Both off.
second is 4 wd in (red ON)
third is 4 wd and 4 low in (both on)

Yeah, I think you should have a "Starting Party." Let us know when the day is near.

Jack

Im thinking that would be appropriate considering the fact you all have had to deal with me CONSTANTLY talking about this PILE for the last 2 years.
I seriously feel socially inept anymore because this has been ALL that Ive DONE and even THOUGHT about since it started.

Ill post the proposed start up date on BBCNN and anyone who wants to come is welcome.
Ill be making the appointment for the exhaust in the next couple weeks, so...itll happen pretty quick.

Another cool thing....TWO WHEEL LOW with this set up!!!!:grinpimp:

Got the heater ducts in and the face plates on. Painted the glove box door and installed that, got the heater lines finalized...I DID end up going with a brass fitting through the fire wall. I was considering what espressomon said and thought it would be the best thing. Try finding a 5/8 in hose barb 90????
WOW.. I ordered a pair from Mcmaster carr, got em, and the SEEMED a bit too short, like I wouldnt have optimal purchase with the clamp. On a whim, I checked this local place called R&E fasteners...they had a straight fitting that I ended up using. Worked nice.
Also re positioned the air intake off to the alternator side. Stuck the hood on to see what clearance I have...Honestly, its not much. Maybe a 1/2 in, but...the elbow off the throttle body is rubber and thus flexable. I might make some rubber spacers for the hood to just sort of elevate it a touch which isnt a bad idea anyway. Also got the 2M radio mounted a couple days ago....

Progress looks great. Only criticism I have is I would paint the bezel white, even with all of the other black accents you have. It will just look THAT much better. Keep it up, you're on the home stretch!!
