If you end up needing longer leads than what is contained in the pre-built cable packages you showed me yesterday you can buy welding wire at any of the welding shops for less coin than at say West Marine. Don't get me wrong: West Marine sells great quality wire but holy crap has it gone through the price roof!

And maybe not orthodox but if all you can find in the heavier gauge wire is black colored sheath then I just use red shrink tubing on each lug end (about 3-4") instead of black to identify the hot lead...but I imagine you already know this.

Copper prices have gone so far through the roof they are becomming a danger to air travel.

Man...this wiring takes some TIME!!!! Holy crap!!!
Though it seems youre not accomplishing much, there's some time in trouble shooting that you seem to gain much more knowledge in that time, so maybe not getting that much DONE, but youre figuring OTHER things out while doing it...if that makes sense??
So just set the column in, and got it connected, got the ground straps in, lights wired up etc. so I decided to test things out.

Headlights I FORGOT that we needed the stock 40 light switch to trun on and off, and the column operates the H/L beam. So those worked great!

The turn signals were a different story. Id hit the switch, and the appropriate light would come on but NOT FLASH. I eff'd around with that for a bit, then I remembered that the LED's dont require as much power. So I went to Kragen and picked up a different flasher fuse... It works, but its NOT a DISTINCT FLASH like Id want it to be for visibility. So Donno what to do about that yet...

The running lights...well...I didnt wire one side right....So one was dim and one was in the brake postion. Easy enough to fix...popped the weather pack apart with great difficulty, swapped the terminals and all's good.
The reverse lamps were also reversed in the wiring, did the same thing and they work beautifully.

The heater works great...at least the motor.

The wiper motor works great except it wont return to "home" position????
Any tips on that???

The horn is all FU*CKED UP!!!! Its the piece of s*** grant horn contraption. I can get the horn to beep, but cant make it happen when the horn switch on the WHEEL is on. Im gonna need to investigate that further as well.

Kinda pissed that my time for getting a run in is dwindling by the minute, but....aaaaah well. Not much I can do at this point. Just gotta keep pluggin away.

Pics of the tail lights/ back up lights, the engine bay and a shot of the inside of the rig where it looks like a tornado hit it!:p

Hmmm...hopefully I didn't put those Weatherpack's together wrong! Sorry if I did!

That is really coming together nicely. Surprised you don't have the fenders covered so if ya lay tools they won't be the first scratches on it. Wait until ya get into the dirt and get the pinstripping dings and dents.

I woke up few minutes ago and realized why the flashers didn't flash, as you figured out a different flasher is required.

Actually I'm pretty pleased with how well the wiring came together, I figured there would be a bit more trouble shooting needed to get it all working.

Naw man... It was good. We got it nailed.
A few stragglers to take care of and some clean up of the wires / loom and I think it's good to go!!!

We did... No big deal.
I flattened out some welding wire and jammed it down into the weather pack to flatten out the barbs on the pins.... Pulled right apart. :)

One more thing I found interesting....
The summit brand cold air intake kit IS a KnN intake kit!!!! Picked that up yesterday as well!!!

Just an FYI!

BTW...This WONT work!!! Airaid has a DIY kit that I picked up and it wont work!:bang::bang::bang: FAAAAWWWWK!!!!!

So Im diggin around looking for an intake set up that I can use with the tight space I have.

These last little details are gonna put me in the nut house!!!

Where is your space constraint? on top of the engine? or where to remotely locate your air-filter? A guy in my club up here has talked about making me a custom air-box for my 350 once I get it started. Maybe we can get him to make 2.

Since the throttle body is off the front of the motor, I have to run the intake tube off to either side and so a tight 90 off it. Then, most of the systems I have looked at are too long and run off into the apron...by a LOT!!! So I'm gonna have to do some custom thing. Thanks for the offer, but it's gotta get done soon.

Where did you get those round Reverse lights?

Actually got em from eBay, but I've seen very similar ones at napa auto. These, I'm not real crazy about how they snug up into the rubber grommet. It's a bit too lose and there's not much of a lip for them to catch. May end up going with the napa jobbers, but well see how they stay in.

Maybe you can get a filter and create your own airbox around it.

So I posted a deal on Pirate re. the intake gear. Lil"john was nice enough to post a pic of how he did his.
The biggest issue Im having is making the bend from the front of the throttle body and angling out toward the fenders....
He found this nifty lil deal....

Cobra Head Elbow 4" ID: Intake Hoses, IntakeTubing, and Intake Clamps

After making ONE LAST ATTEMPT at using an off the shelf intake kit, I gave up and orderd one and will make the rest myself...

So that is now 2 days WASTED effing around with the intake.
I called it early tonight cuz I was just sooooo frustrated when I got home...Grabbed a beer and here I sit for the noc.

I did manage to get the 4 low switch fit and welded, so...that's not entirely true!
Hope this helps someone else down the line!!! Seriously!

Smart kid like you and a super-flexible kit like this? You got some 'splainin' to do there.

LOL!!!!:lol::lol::lol:
Pretty rad kit, hu!?!?!
The issue is the elbow off the intake. Ive got FIVE and ONE QUARTER IN. from the front of the throttle body to the front of the rad. shroud. That elbos took up about 1.5 in more than that. Off there, that would have been ideal from that point, but...NO GO!
