Btw jack... I might need your help getting the rig over to mr.z's muffler shop????

No problem, just let me know when, we'll get it figured out.

It's a 40. It doesn't have a roof. Rattles are that that big of a problem....:D

It might just be that one rattle that drives him...oh wait you're probably right.

Hey Keith...did you incorporate some kind of rubber bumper/strip to keep the tail gate from rattl'n?

The only place it will rattle is against the stop. Not really all that concerned with to be honest. Like drew said, there will be a ton of other noises that will likely mask the tail gate rattle. :)

I would think just knowing that gate was back there rattl'n away metal on metal would drive a detail guy like you nuts :D

Rattle away ;p

You forget where I'm at in this build!?!? Lots of little details are slidin for the sake of time.
I briefly thought about getting a set of 45 latches and makin those work, but..... A week in shipping, then riggin em into it... Nope. :)
Done! MOVE ON!

Man, don't let to many small details pass by you are this far so don't skip to many and write all the little crap down so you can remember to go back to them ask me how I know:o. The tailgate looks nice it wil be great to have on the trail like you said so you have a place to sit and drink a beer. Every drop of blood and sweat will all be worth it after you hear it run and watch it move under its own power. I still am :) and you have way more time and effort into yours. Keep up the work and details thats what sets you apart from most.

Thanks man! Very nice of you to say!
Lemme clarify though. Little details on things like the tail gate latch... All I need it to do is hold the gate up and be easy to drop the gate and not open when I don't want it to. Things like that, I don't need to waste a week plus of time on for a different type of latch that will do the same thing.

Should be good. Having seen rusty dans tailgate set up, this should do the trick.
My tailgate is one step away from duct tape and bailing wire, it don't take much to be better than that.

Friday...I was working. Gotta pay for all this crap. Did you do a sag conversion on the 60?

Made some great progress today. Had to track down some parts that took a while this AM. Returned my Red top and picked up a yellow top....Had a little talk with RustyTLC on this as the CCA's are LESS THAN the CCA on the red by about 50 (750 vs. 800) Gonna have to research that a bit more....

Anyway...Found the hardware I needed to get the tailgate support cables in. Couldnt find a shoulder bolt that wasnt going to stick out into the middle of the tailgate () so I made one using a bronze bushing. So now the ends of the cables wont bind when I fold up the tail gate. Got that all welded in. Last thing to do on that is put a plastic deck on the inside and its DONE.

Then...Started on the battery tray. Not much to say about it other than...it holds the battery in place. Used the Ruff Stuff tray and added some gussets under it. Should hold up.

My list is dwindling for the tub portion. I have almost ALL of the crap done I need before I pull the tub and start doing the finish stuff on it, then I move on to painting.:bounce::bounce2:
