Awesomeness!

Fuel tank is DONE!!!! Just need to paint, wire and plumb it. Did the final pressure test yesterday, had a few more leaks around the fill neck, hammered those out and used this stuff called "quick steel" (kinda like JB weld) for extra measure in ALL the trouble areas as precautionary measure. Got the sending unit in, the hole on the tub side filled...Got the stop, turn, tail lights in and the reverse lights in....Glad to have that tank set up more than anything! What a friggin PITA!!!! If I had this to do over...Id have avoided messing with the STOCK tank position AT ALL COST to BEGIN WITH. However, I had NO IDEA that this would have been that much of an issue. Hind sight it always 20/20 though.

Looking Saweet! Where did you get the round backup lights? Are they LED?

nick

FLEABAY!!! Pretty nice, right? Got em from "closertowholesale" on there. If you search reverse light you can find em. They are LED and actually quite bright. I did a bench test and they SHINE! The were 25 bucks for the set. 2.5 in round and the grommit is 3 3/4, so they fit the 2x4 rear bumper. Only thing I DONT like about em is they did NOT leave enough of a lip on the light itself for a more secure mounting in the grommit. Not that they are EASY to come out, but with dirt road/ wash board vibrations, that does have me a little concerned. Well see.:meh:

Just makes sure you keep a roll of duct tape in the truck.

Was thinking about putting a 2.5 in rubber ring in there to make a compression fitting, of sorts. Shouldnt go anywhere then.:hhmm:
What I like about BOTH the style of lights is that they "float" in the rubber grommit. Seems that helps a GREAT DEAL as far as vibration and shock absorption.

Looking good man

Very nice, very nice indeed. Glad to see that hurdle has been cleared. Sooo, it should be running by the end of this weekend...right??? :flipoff2:

Jack

Just like tha past year and a half.... Running on hopes and dreams. :p

just need a milk crate for a seat should be good to go don't need no paint etc. Nice and light weight like it is.

Got THREE different small projects going on concurrently.

1. building the tail gate
2. making pump stops
3. getting the triple sticks bent and cut and the shift boots those and the transmission shifter installed.

Ive got the frame welded up for the tail gate
Ive got ONE bump stop made and the other I just need to drill some holes
and TODAY, I got the shifters finished, the boots installed.

Found this nifty little acetaline/ Oxygen torch @ Home depot a few weeks back that worked AWESOME just for bending the 1/2 rod I used for the shifter handles.

Only pics worth posting were of the shfiters. Ill post more of the other stuff as I go along.
