BUT... you’re in Houston? I might be there twice in the next few months. Always looking to eat or drink with a Mudder.
Not me, but pretty sure I've seen that same one. Also saw a mid wheel base 7x series in Earlysville the other day, no way that guy isnt on here.
Let me know when your in town and I'll buy you a beer!Officially, Charlottesville is home, though I am based overseas (Rwanda) at the moment on a long-term assignment.
Look forward to meeting you.I'm In staunton and work in Charlottesville.
Pretty sure I've seen a couple of you guys around the area before. Next time I'll wave.
I'm signed up for the fall crawl but I've got a pretty nasty exhaust leak that's causing the fzj stumble and I also don't have any sliders.
Working on fixing both issues before the meet.
I'm going to hold you to that!Let me know when your in town and I'll buy you a beer!
I think I've seen this land cruiser parked at Family Auto Center in RuckersvilleNice 80! Maybe we should use a thread like this to post some pictures of our trucks so we can potentially recognize eachother on the road. Not the best pic, but here is my LX (front bumper is on the way).View attachment 1956537
I live in Charlottesville yeahThat you have! My buddy Sam works there and I had him addressing a few things on it. Are you in Ruckersville or C'ville?
Neither would be cheap, that's a lot of consumption though so you're going to need to make a decision at some point. Lots of opinions out there but IMO the whole point of a land cruiser is the bullet proof reliability and the beefy inline 6s in these are just that. I'd do a full rebuild of your engine and slap on a Wits End turbo if you can swing it. That would be the best of both worlds.Since getting this vehicle last July, it started out burning 1-2 quarts of oil every gas fill up, so around 200 miles. Since 2019 it burns that same amount of oil, but every 500 or so miles. I use 15w-40 oil and do oil changes around every 5,000 miles or so. I purchased it with 273,000 on it, and it's my daily driver. I know it's running "fine" rn, but I've been thinking about either doing a chevy swap, or a full engine rebuild. I don't have the money right now, but would like to save up. What'd you guys think? Chevy swap or engine rebuild?
