Something that would be much easier to try is to disconnect and reconnect the battery terminal to force a full reboot of the Naviplus unit. It may or may not resolve the problem, but it's a LOT easier than pulling the dash apart...

Well, it’s randomly working today. Thanks for the tip. I’ll try that if it happens again.

When in wireless CarPlay mode, your phone needs to be connected to the network generated by the NavPlus unit. In my experience, sometimes this doesn't happen. Check your wifi connection next time you experience a problem.

I am the one who did my install  . It's not difficult. The hardest part is not scratching the headunit or the super delicate painted plastic. I had towels around the video headunit and painters tape around every plastic edge that I pried off. I used plastic/nylon panel tools from Harbor Freight and a 10mm socket with extension. I also purchased some high stick velcro (which I didn't use) and some 3M VHB tape (which I did use). That VHB tape is so unbelievably tough. I stuck the NP and the NetPlay unit together then stuck them both to the back of the video screen as there's tons of room there. I chose to stick them there because the plastic on the vents (at the back of the cavity) is very soft and looked flimsy. I didn't want to break that plastic if I had to remove the NP unit in the future.

I ran my microphone cable under the driver's dash and up the A-pillar. The A-Pillar on the MY 18 is the same A-Pillar as the rest of the world's non-"Sahara" version, but with cushy fabric glued to it. And for some reason, my A-Pillar fabric is glued to the windshield glue. I can't take the dang thing off to save my life. This made routing the NP mic up the pillar very difficult because I wanted to get the mic cable behind the side airbag and in the same clips as other wiring. I wanted to mount the mic to just above the rear view mirror as I've seen in other vehicles. To do that, you'll also need to take out a few screws for the headliner. It's really not that hard. You don't take out the headliner, just the clip that holds in the main visor (turn that 45 degrees), then there's a plastic shroud over the main visor's mount to the head liner. You unscrew that. Then the sub-visor also has a couple clips that come out. Once those are out, you can pull down the headliner just enough (DON'T PULL HARD ENOUGH TO BEND IT!!!) that you can tuck cables up there.

With all that being said, if you're not comfortable doing that, I would take it to PDA Road Gear in Littleton.

I'm gathering up the courage to do this. Everything seems pretty straight forward, except that there's a USB connector in a rectangular plate. Does that replace the USB jack next to the heated/cooled seat controls? If not, where should I plug that in?

I do not have that so I can't say. Doing this yourself isn't hard. Just go slow and use thick towels to cover up anything you don't want scratched.

And use blue masking tape along edges where trim tools are used to further protect the trim pieces from getting marks.

It appears everything is working minus the ability to the Naviplus screen. Wired is 100%. I can play music, get nav, etc. I am also able to connect wirelessly and play music or get nav. I am seeing low data mode with wireless 50% of the time. Holding down the Nav button no longer switches to the Naviplus screen.
I’m going to disconnect the battery today and see if a reset works. Could this be an installation issue? something come loose? Up until this week the unit has been a solid 95% solution.

Anyone care to throw a comparison in here for the GROM unit as it compares to the Naviplus and EC Offroad? Seems to be a very cost effective option.

If holding down the NAV button doesn't change input, I would open up the dash and verify all connected are solid. If they are and it's still not working, you should verify each wire is solidly in the harness.

You can also integrate with the factory usb plug. PAC makes an adapter that plugs in near the cup holder. Mine was a PAC USB-TY2 on my 2016. I also used a USB extension cable to go from the aftermarket harness to the cup holder area.

I've had the NaviPlus installed for about three months. I'm now getting a message on the screen that says "No GPS Input." My iPhone no longer sees the unit broadcasting Bluetooth or wifi.

Does anyone have a suggestion to try and resolve this issue?

Plug the GPS antenna wire in?

Sounds like something either came unplugged or depinned.
I don't think the unit I have has a GPS antenna (see attached install doc)

I'm wondering if the netplay i-30 unit died. When you connect a phone to the USB connection, it no longer charges.

Sorry, must be a running change. My older Naviplus has a separate external antenna. If it was me, I'd pull the dash apart and check all of the connections.

I am sure nobody needs this or needs another pile on. But I just installed in my 2019. It’s so good. If you are on the fence just do it

Which unit did you go with?

Has anyone does this with a 2016 one with resistive touch screen? If so what unit did you use and any issues?

I've got a 2018 with resistive touch screen. I chose the NaviPlus unit. I'm connecting an Android Pixel 4XL to the unit via USB as wireless Android Auto isn't supported. Over all, I'm satisfied. I've not taken a long trip in the truck yet. The unit does have flaws.

1. Will not fast charge the phone. Most times the phone maintains it's charge. Sometimes it loses charge slowly. You can't use wireless charging at the same time as USB charging.

2. The steering wheel controls for next track are finicky. Sometime's they work, most of the time they go to the next track and immediately to the previous track I was just playing.

3. The stock play/pause button doesn't actually pause. It just mutes the audio.

4. On startup if I haven't pressed the screen before switching to NP, the NP will not register the first screen press. I have to press any where on the screen once then it responds.

5. Every once in a while the unit drops the Android Auto connection. It's rare. Maybe 1 in 20 uses? Probably less frequent than that.

6. The microphone is atrocious but necessary for voice commands. I don't pair the NP to my phone via Bluetooth. I use the vehicles stock phone/bluetooth and it works perfectly.

7. I can sometimes not hear a notification when it comes in because the vehicle has some sort of attenuator so sounds don't blow out your ears. I don't know if that's a vehicle setting I can turn off.

8. I used to have day/night mode working but now it's stuck in day mode. This means maps (Waze) is very bright at night. I've heard that might be a Google problem.

Would I buy this unit again? Heck yes. Stock maps are awful and having Waze tell me about accidents or cops is too valuable. Not to mention the much easier use of music apps on the touch screen versus having to handle my phone. That's just dangerous.
