Congrats on the long awaited Troopy!

Alet now that you have used your's a good number of times, is the bed wide enough to allow Jan to get up and take the preverbial "midnight leak" and climb back into bed without disturbing your sleep or have you improvised ?
The bed is wide enough, yes, but we have just yesterday decided that we will do one mod when we get home.

We will cut the small platform in half. We tend to move 'up' in the night, and when he wants to climb down, he has to wake me to move my pillow off of the small platform.

If we cut it in half, he can open his side like a trapdoor, and that would mean that I can sleep until the cup of coffee is handed to me tomorrow morning

Sorry Troepadoer , for being so late !

here under some pic of my latest lockers .

bye Renago

These have been used and abused in a 10 year expedition in north Africa runs .
so they hold up well on corrugated roads , dust , sand .
After this testing I can definitely recommend them .
I found them in a store selling boat stuff .

sorry once again for the delay in sending the photos.

Sooooooo thank you Renago! I can see why these will work much better than the other kind. I will start looking for these immediately.

Troepadoer , it's a pity that we live far away ,
I have my complete interior that would like to sell ,
it could have been a good and easy job for your new car !

Bye Renago

What a pity @renago !

Why do you want to sell yours? Are you going to build a new interior?

Stay well!

since I now have a pop up roof , the interior should be changed slightly .
but altering just some pieces means that you should change all the set up ...pain and costy
the final set up should be some thing like this :

but I would like to sell mine , in order to get back some €€€

Troepadoer, could I ask a favour please? Can you take a picture or advise where the wiring for the fog lights in the bumper connect into the loom? Can you also advise if they switch off when you switch off ignition, or do they remain on like the headlights and potentially drain the battery?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Wildphoto! I sincerely apologize for the pic being upside down :frown: but I hope you will still be able to see what is going on here...
The main loom behind the right front headlight has two smaller cables splitting off of it. The top on terminates into the body right behind the radiator, and I suspect that will be for connecting spot lights. The lower one goes through to the front next to the radiator.

and then runs to the right hand front fog light. From there another cable runs to the left hand fog light

Again, apologies for the upside down reading! Does this answer your question?

Many thanks, that could be what I am looking for. Essentially I was wanting to know where the two lights in the picture below (recognise it??) are connected.

It boils down to this: The connection for the fog lights splits off of the main loom to the right head light, goes through to the front behind the gril, down to a connector and right to the fog light behind the bumper. From this fog light another line runs all the way to the left behind the bumper to the left fog light.

Brilliant, I have that connector too! There is nothing on it as I no longer have the standard bumper. See pictures from above and below.

Can you advise when these fog lights are on? Do they remain on if the stalk switch is on and the ignition is off?

Many thanks.

Now just to find where to buy a female connector.

Yes, it remains on when ignition is off.

Just got the Troopy back from having a Gobi-X two wheel bumper carrier fitted. It's the shiniest part of the car and needs to get out into some dust to help it blend in to the rest of the car ! But it looks great, thanks to R&D Offroad in Brakenfell.

Hey there, I was curious on the clearance on the side of the truck. I am trying to purchase the same bumper for my rig but I am a little worried about the tire sticking out as I live in Nigeria and often drive downtown where clearance gets a little scary. How far does the tire stick out, or is it just the perspective in the photo? Is it somehow adjustable? Thanks!

Hello Troopie75.

The photo is misleading. :)

It does not stick out at all. See picture from the front, below. It is only adjustable in the distance from the frame due to the offset of the rim. In other words, if you have a narrow tyre/rim, you can adjust the mounting bracket to be closer to the back of the car. Shout if you need more info.
