I've been sitting on these parts since the swap, but finally got around to installing them. Big, wide FJ62 pedal from Georg and a new rubber pad from beno.

It'll be much easier to do the left foot braking on the trail now.

I tried to post the pics, but woody blocked them. I will crop out the nipples when I get back to work and try again.

Holy cow. This thing is a work of art. These guys are true artists.

So what I got was a dual pass, two row all-aluminum unit with the tanks on the sides vs. top/bottom. The dual pass keeps the hoses on the passenger side (for a clean look under the hood), but keeps the hot & cold sides separate. I had them make a shroud, because mine would: a) look like ass attached to this beauty, and b) not mount to it anyway.

I am so glad I had them do the shroud. It is pure sex. (woody made me blur it to pass thru the family filter)

All of the mounts and dimensions match the factory unit so it should bolt right in with the stock hardware.

I had them put in a trans cooler too - I'll run the lines through the radiator cooler to either warm up or cool down the fluid to 175, then to the external cooler to drop it from there before sending it back to the transmission.

When I even hinted that I was worried about the temps off-roading at slow speeds in hot weather, they said "you won't have ANY issues. This is the same thing we put in race cars. If you have a problem, you know where to find us". Pure confidence.

I got a quick tour of the place while I was there. Everything except the cores are machined, CNC'd, broke, welded & tested in-house. Very cool place. I'm a nut-swinger.

It took all freakin' day, but the new radiator is in. It tried to fight me but I fought back and put it in its place.

Since the shroud is a full box vs a shallow box with a ring for the fan, it took up more room than the old one. I had to cut a chunk out of the crossmember for clearance.

I had to hack up the AC drier bracket too. Then it slid right in.

The shroud is a perfect fit around the fan. The radiator doesn't seal up to the core support as well as the stock one, but still seems to pull air through the AC condenser just as before.

I also switched to an 80 series transmission cooler. It was free and bigger than the old one. I'm going through the radiator then through the cooler.

I'll report back on temps when I get some more miles on it.

I thought you were getting Onur's M8000?

That kinda looks like the dead Chinese winch from last year.

Not that we're going to need to winch.....!

I spent Sunday afternoon reading your thread. Great work! Very informative. great pictures. to me a thread without pictures is worthless!

My son and I are working on a 1984 FJ60 and have a 5.3 sitting in waiting.
My question is about the AC compressor. Did you use the stock GM compressor or convert to a Sanden type?
Thanks
Gary
