You know you can get new fenders.

I was able to get both for mine. It took an HS7 form and some time to get the left side released.

Little body filler, sand, prime repeat. Next up, body putty.

A clear coat will be more durable. Originally 058 was a single stage. It could still be cleared however.

Finally got around to rebuild in the front axle this weekend. Got it stripped down and pulled the rear drums to turn too.

Everything, bearings, races, grease looked nearly new. But I wanted to make sure it was all done right and with quality components, so I went ahead with it. Brought all the parts into work today and used the parts cleaner and my shop press to put it all together. Going out of town for thanksgiving but I'll reassemble when I get back.

Also got my full engine gasket kit from Onur, so that's fun :)

Finally, the best new thing I've learned in awhile... I forget what YouTube video I saw this on, but cutting the old races and using them to press in the new ones works perfectly!

@beno quick question... are the front/rear brake hard and soft lines a US available item? One of my front hard lines has a kink and the soft lines have 2004 dates on them. I'm thinking I should just go ahead and replace the damaged hard line and all the soft lines while I'm in there. The damaged hard line is the front left line that goes over the hump of the differential out to the soft line.

And for the drums and rotors, do those cross over to any US spec truck that I can grab from NAPA?

Got my front and rear axles rebuilt finally. Didn't take too many pics, it's been dark, doing them after work and pics look crappy.

The aftermarket hubs that came on the truck had a hairline crack running through them. I reassembled them temporarily just so the hubs were sealed but I went looking for a set of Aisins. People ask CRAZY prices. $250 and up for beat up used sets on eBay. I briefly considered $250 for a remanufactured set from wabfab. Then I found you can get them brand new off Amazon. Prime even.

They arrived today :) gonna put them on tonight. Can't beat under $240 shipped for a brand new set from Aisin.

Waiting on a big parts order from Australia. Should be ready to roll again soon!

A couple pics of progress I've made lately. Axles are done. Need to put new shocks on and I'll put the wheels back on and put her back on the ground :) hopefully I'll find time tomorrow.

I also started modifying an old roof rack I had on a full size Montero. I will be mounting my roof top tent to the back of this and adding lights front and rear.

Now I know where they went. Have had a couple in the shopping cart ready to buy and when I finally had funds allowance, they were out :bang:

Haha, yep! Down to just one in stock. I'm sure they will restock them. They fit perfectly.

Installed the new shocks from Ultima4x4, bled the brakes and adjusted the drums. Wheels and tires and balancers on and back on the ground. Test drive with new shocks and all the other work I've done and it feels like a different truck. Very happy with it all :)

It is where I got the ones on my old 73 (now @forrest5000 's). They do restock, but it takes months. It took almost three months for me to get the last set I bought.
