Saw another FJ with the ends of the bumper cut off. Probably a lot easier than bending it back.

Anyone else done this?

I went a different route with the bumper. I made some supports so the bumper will take a small bump without folding up. I believe it will fold if I smack a tree or shopping cart hard enough before the frame gets all twisted. The stock bumper can't take much before, well before it looks like yours. I like the look of a stock bumper, so we'll see how long before I tag a cart. :)

I have some flat steel welded up in there by the bolts that you can't see. I had to leave room to get the bolts out.

Saw another FJ .........

Better to use the number than the "FJ". Too much like FJ Cruiser.

I would personally keep the bumper and straighten it as others have suggested. If you want something different then pull it and go aftermarket. You can always sell the original but probably not if you cut the ends off.
