Well that sort of contradicts itself pretty well, doesnt it.

Its the caster you have, because of how you have it, but its not the caster that does it.

Its mainly due to increased travel and panhard rod pull, than caster.

Offset swivel bearings is a good caster add too, as you can add neg camber at the same time, for improved handling and tyre wear.

Bent towers doesnt help either.

I think looking at 40 front bump stops they are the same unequal length, but I havent tried the bolt holes, but would only be half a hole out which would just mean slotting the holes to the outside to bolt them on.
Geez, what time is it in AUS?
Are you burning the midnight oil?
I didn't understand half of what you just wrote.o_O:meh:

Bye the way, I don't have any caster brackets.

The front axle is basically on a lever and when it droops it moves down, rearward and toward the DS. More travel = more deflection. Looking at this picture I think more + caster would make it worse, right?

Also, GW, the front frame bumpstops on my 9/92 FZ are two different lengths. The taller one (PS) is the same length as rear frame bumps. Bolt pattern is about a half a bolt dia shorter too FYI.

its 11 am Wednesday ;)

The easiest fix of all we do is just move the axle forward for the bigger tyres, and centre the wheel in the arch.

Our plates are 17mm hole with a 4mm pilot, so you put them in place, drill the 4mm pilot, turn them around, weld them in centred then run an 18mm drill through the whole lot. Simple

with 3" lift and 35s, the front wheel has more room, and looks more centred in the fender.

This is how you do offset swivel bearings for caster and camber ;)

Yes, I'm running 37"s so I do need to move forward. I thought I ordered those plates, but Justin sent me these blue 8mm offset bushings. Do they flex better or worse than stock bushings? Those plates are 12mm correct?

Those old plates were 15mm but our new ones are 30mm and the bushes are 8mm.

They make the car wander less on road, they flex better, due to no bind as well.

Thanks for the reply
OK, I will put the blue bushing on if they do flex better & give better handling on road. Win, win.
Does Redline have those 30mm forward plates? If not, will you put some in the next container to the US.

This seems to be the ticket for anything over 3" of lift, correct?
Hmm, well it has to do with tire size. I had no problems with 35/315s but my 37s are hitting the firewall under full lock & compressed. Lowering bump stops down will prevent this. I don't want to limit uptravel by adding bump stops so they are hitting the firewall untill I move them forward.

just buy a jeep and you can put 42" tires with no rubbing!

Yeah, I saw that rig, it was on a stock suspension.
Your funny & I don't even know it...

Hey Big J, you run 37s... did you move your axle forward?

Wow...1 person so far has it correct. You lifted your 80...you shortened the radius arm in doing so. This caused your axle to shift backwards, therefore your upper spring perch and lower spring perch are nowhere near aligned so your spring bows. Also, unless you have a properly adjusted panhard it caused your axle to pull to the driver side. Both of these causes it to rub the internal bump stop. I have a 3-link and had the same rubbing issue until I adjusted it out to recenter the axle. Not a problem since.

Just a band aid, but I did grind the lip off & the snapping sound has gone away as the coil cycles through now.
