Well looks like that large but should come off and under that sleeve is a 31 spline. Hmm. Be checking into that tomorrow.

Things are moving along. 80 axles sitting under the terd. Just need the guy who bought the 60 axles to come pick them up. Going to check out the engine today. Also got parts to rebuild the t-case. Ordered the adapter parts today for the NV4500. Hopefully I'll have the axles in place by next week so when the adapters arrive I'm ready for dropping the engine in. :-)

This is so awesome! Cant wait to see it done!

We took Ole Whitey up Mt Herman Road yesterday, performed like a beast. Even the guy's muffler job held up in the flexy sections.

Hopefully after the holidays I can get the graphics done.

Sweet post some pics!!!!

Awesome build man! I'd be happy to help out if you ever need an extra set of hands.

Thanks!! I might take you up on that. Hopefully I'll be ready for the engine next weekend. :-). We will see how much I get done this week.

Started in on the front suspension. The radius arms line up will the old crossmember mounts. I used some 1/4" and the old brackets. It slightly drops the arms too to help with the caster. Cut off and ground down all motor mounts. Also cut out fenders to make room for shock hoops. Tomorrow I'll be welding it all in.

Front suspension just about done. Need to do the panhard arm and bracket. I might need to take that spacer out or go with light springs. I'll see once I get the drivetrain in.

This is awesome.

Just went through the 95 TBI harness. It had a 4l80e connected to it so I stripped out all that stuff and narrowed down only what I needed. It's been so cold out I had to bring it inside and spread it out on the dinning table. I made a mess and the wife wasn't too happy.

Super ambitious build, is this all happening real time or do you have a headstart over what you have posted thus far?
The front axle seems to fit really well, but that pumpkin is way closer to center than on the 60series axle, no?

Will the rear fit? It is my understanding that the 60s frame is inhabiting the same space where the 80s rear spring buckets want to be...

Most definitely subscribed, you're flying!

Real time. The front has lined up well. The rear is looking good too. Tested the rear coil buckets the other night. It look pretty good.

The front 60 frame is 2" wider than the 80. The rear 60 frame is about 2" narrower than the 80 frame. Everything is lining up well I'll post up pics of how the rear worked out once I get a little more done on it.

Ok well got the back end mostly together. Enough to get all the tires on. Sorry photos aren't that great. The sun was setting. The first one is how I cut the cool buckets then braced them to be able to weld to the frame. I'll try and get good picks of everything once I get it out of the garage and into better light. Still have the panhard arms to do. But everything is looking pretty centered. I I cut the rear shock mount off and modified the 80 series shock mounts to fit between the coil buckets and the upper control arm bracket. I had to shorten the update control arm bracket to the width of the 60 frame.

Got some more done today. Got the brackets for the panhard arms welded up. And got the steering box mounted in its new place. Ended up using the FZJ80 box.
