I tried pretty hard to buy lights from Stern and he wouldn't sell them to me. I gave up and got them elsewhere. Oddly about 6 months later I had the same exact experience with Susquehanna Motorsports. Both insisted on knowing what I was going to do with the lights, and didn't like my response (i.e. used off-road on a street legal vehicle). Both Summit and amazon have had the same product for less.

So, you wanted off road lights on a street vehicle. I can see that they didnt want to be involved.

No, I wanted lights to use off highway, only, on a street legal vehicle. The law in this State is quite clear what my obligations are when operating on a public road with regard to those lights. I have always met them in the past and have no intention of changing to illegal behavior. Why did they even feel like they could ask? I should have told them it was none of their business.

What I thought very curious was that two different vendors, in a relatively short time span, asked those same questions.

They are the OE7 series headlights. LED Projector design. Ican't wait to see how they compare to my other Dapper headlights.

For those with upgraded wiring harness........
Is there a glass only option available?

They are $34-50 for two. With harness. With bulbs. With a huge pack of zip ties.

Just hang onto the harness for another vehicle. Kit only.

In a lot of States blue lighting of any sort is illegal. Could have been the color that the LEO objected to, rather than he/she having any knowledge of or ability to ID non DOT conforming lights.

Yep, cant have blue lights. They were questionable blue. The city bulb is just a tiny bulb in the headlight that is used in city situations where lights are not needed but they are there just to let people know its a car. My deal with the LEO was to remove the bulb, send him a photo and he would drop the ticket. He didnt know anything about the city light. He could just see a hint of blue in it. Fair enough, I agreed.

It seems pretty petty that they'd care about those lights in particular, they are tiny but this State is so paranoid about people using blue lights to impersonate cops that it is fairly hard for non LEO's to buy them when there is a legitimate reason for having it. I dunno, maybe the Nightstalker serial killer used one to pull over his victims and that made it a big deal.

One premier desert racing promoter requires a rear facing blue light, that comes on with the ignition, on all of the cars in the slower classes. This in addition to the rear facing amber required for ALL desert racers. The idea is that a blue light means a slow moving race car as a warning to the faster classes. The problem is that we who chase these races would like to also employ a rear facing blue light (since we're rarely any faster than one of the slow classes), but don't dare attach one to a street driven vehicle. Even if Off it would be an immediate pull-over when a LEO saw it.

Ordered the Koito kit a couple days ago from a dealer that usually carries these, received an email from them that the kits are on "national backorder".
Anyone else had success ordering Koito's lately? From where?

If you can’t get one locally, let me know and I can easily get you a set and ship it down to you.

So I ordered a set of these last week for mine. Local dealer said it was the last one available in the country through the dealer. But one is left on EBay
