Nice, too nice to wheel, though.
Sounds like Dan's making a road trip!!

I just got back from Phoenix in a freaking FIAT!

I checked it out for her. She got a really nice truck at a great price.

Let the build begin!!!

Thanks for the help with this Dan! And that is the bumper I am looking at. Blueberry bumper a la Slee Offroad. Me and Christo and going to be tight after this. Well, at least he'll have a lot of my money and I'll think we are tight.

The build begins soon. I'll be digging around in the 100-Series tech forum for ideas. I think we'll do lift, sliders and tires first. Then skids, bumpers and that's about it for now. Mild wheeler, daily driver, family truckster. That's the plan.

Nice LX love the color too!

You must have never met Tad who used to wheel with us. LX470 with tsl swampers.

Good plan. skids, lift, tires, and sliders are the best first addition.

cool deal!! If your not in a hurry AirTran Airways - Specials Sale Fares

Lift....just press a button and up ya go!!

I still need a picture of Dan in his Fiat...we grew up with them and I remember my brothers head sticking up over the wind shield.

Yeah just look for the ahc mod to leave it in high mode. Wait several years for ahc to crap out before you spend on a lift.

Great looking truck. That color does it for me.

You are going to like the hundy!

I haven't even seen the hundy and I like it already!

Been on the phone with ACC today...getting prices for mods. Weighing my options:

AHC till it dies vs. lift now
BFG AT's vs. something a little more aggressive (this is a DD and I am in Texas)
White Knuckle Sliders vs. Ironman (if they make them)
ironman bumper (cheap) vs. Slee (known entity)
skids of steel (heavy but reliable) vs. skids of aluminium (like Dan's, but untested and this truck is heavy)

Decisions, decisions...

lot of folks like the WK sliders because of the kick out and MetalTech is making them now too. I have slee. Bumper and skids...I'd go slee. All the pics of Aluminum i've seen, owners have regretted at some point. Go steel. I have the BFGs too and have had no problems. You'll probably wheel more than me though. Very few have had trouble driving the AHC till it dies. Save the funds for a lift and put it towards steel skids. Swap the lift later. Or spend the extra on 18s and a 285 tire that's 35". That way you can get 35s without cutting trim and using spacers. 315 is the only one that will fit the 16". Or you could stay with a 33 in a 285 75 16. I think it's a good choice for a "do-it-all" cruiser. Steen has run this size for ever and has done fine. I'll let him speak up about switching to 35s. I know he's thought about it but not sure which direction he'll go if at all. I'm seriously thinking about switching to 18s though.

So let me get this straight, I can fit 18s with 285s and they will fit stock with no rubbing?

yep! some are running 285-65-18 (34ish) and some 285-75-18 (35ish). It's the width that kills. 315-75-16 is the 35" for 16s and you'll need about 1.25 spacer and do some cutting in the fender wells. either way is fine though. the 285 on 18 is growing on the though. I've got a while before my 285-75-16 need to be replaced so I've got plenty of time to think about it. You'll need to be lifted though (not totally stock...just no trimming or spacers). 285-65 = no lift...285-75 = lift

I would say you could fit a 33 right now, no lift, easy.

To rig a height thing, run a tall but narrow tire...yeah, that could happen.

I don't know anyone besides me with aluminum sliders, but with the weight of a 100 and rocks I would be wary.

Now, with no lift, 285-75-16, 295-75-16 would be fine. Any taller and I'd suggest lifting. I did OMT2008 at Tellico with 285s and no lift. Ran 4, 5, & 6 with no problems.

Tad?? Tabraha was running 34 super swampers on his at tellico a few years ago.
