Busy day trying to get stuff done and deal with all of the information I have now so here is the latest:
• The entire order of drain hoses will be ready by Wed. I will pick up hopefully this week and then have them laser etched.
• The entire order of wastegates arrives early this week. They couldn't do the etching for these in the timeline I needed so I now need to laser etch those as well.
• The last of the fittings came in that I was waiting for which was the turbo drain flange. I got the gasket type when I specifically asked for the o-ring style. I will just have to suck it up and get the spendy one just so I get exactly what I want.
• All of the intake pipes are done and should be headed to powder coating either tomorrow or Tuesday. I've been told turnaround is roughly three days so they *could* be ready by Friday but I'm not counting on it.
• ClampCo has my order of V-band clamps in the style I wanted. Those should be ready within the next week.
• The shop doing all of the silicone couples is supposed to be coming in on Tuesday to measure everything and offer any suggestions. His turn around is supposed to be under a week.
• The downpipe was approved so they started those on Friday. I've asked for the first product to test fit on the test mule but assuming no issues they will be cranking out the downpipes all this week.
• BorgWarner sent out (9) of the complete turbos and (3) partial housings. This first wave will be used to finalize packaging for everything. I'm not going to be going nuts on packaging. Its not that I don't think you guys don't deserve wicked cool packagin or that the product itselt doesn't deserve it, but unfortunately the packaging company I was working with has simple failed to produce anything that I could be proud of. And the dullard crap they did do was lacking in any creativity and the proposed cost was absolutely horrendous. So I'm just going to do it myself and call it a day.
• This means that as a "product" the very first units *could* possibly start shipping in 2-3 weeks, maybe sooner if everything goes well.
Given that timeline I have an extra 2-3 days longer that I can work on the engine bay of test mule #3. This means I will be replacing a few more "while I[m there" items since everything is opened up. SEMA Garage right now is actually bugging me to know when I'm ready. It seems all of a sudden they really want to see this done. Wonder why?
