@mudgudgeon haven't you got an elegible FZJ80? You know you want to...

Fuel economy increase...confirmed.

I could have easily hit 300 but next gas station is 52 miles away. The light just started glowing. I have never seen an 80 hit 300 miles on a tank. My own SC’d 80 gets 220 on a good day and I’m stocked to get that! 😳

Last fill up on this truck on the way out to Flagstaff was 270 with a bright fuel light. I really pushed it. Dylan can attest to his previous fill ups.

Oddly enough, only 18 gallons went in just now. So that means 16.44 MPG. 🤔

I used to get 300 miles to the tank when doing highway trips to AZ. Most I had was 320 I think. Wish it was still the case. Maybe I can convince the wife to let us put in a turbo to increase fuel economy and save on gas :) I was wondering if the turbo would do that.

Isn’t it mostly downhill out of Flagstaff? :D
Still pretty awesome.

I got 300 miles out of a tank once. Moab to Flagstaff convoying with @LandCruiserPhil. A feat never repeated.

It was out of Flagstaff but I was not gentle to the peddle. You know how the truckers are on the 40 there. I was passing every single one of them. 😁

So Joey just texted me a video doing 105mph up hill.... I guess the turbo is working. Haha :worms:

So after giving it a lot of thought, I’m not going to post that particular video. It’s not an accuarate depiction of the results of the install and I don’t want to set up crazy expectations. And I don’t want to explain this to an AZ judge after some douche nozzle turns me in 🖕😁🖕

I just confirmed that the speedo has NOT been corrected. Although I’m still EXTREMELY happy with the mpg, torque and speed of this I stall, anything I show will need an ( * ) because of the 10% Gear and tire variance from actual.

I’ll post of some other videos though to get the point across 😉

Don’t the tires and gears basically cancel out as far as the speedo/odo is concerned?

I guess that’s chalked up to 35s not being 35s when mounted... on paper they’re both about 10% in opposite directions but obviously the GPS is more accurate.

No. At 105 my actual was 95. At 75 my actual was 68.

I've set up a few trucks with speedo correction and the math never matches the actual correction needed.

My SC truck with a corrected speedo gets around 14.5 on highway at 85mph.

Why would it not be an accurate depiction of results?

I want the ability to go 100+ MPH uphill.

I never thought I would ever wonder if anyone makes a Z-rated 35” tire. hmmm....

I just got 305 miles on my last tank (only took 22.5 gallons) and that was driving from Colorado Springs to Avon/Vail and back covering a couple of passes and a lot of elevation change...I'm a heavy pig on 35s. My rig will practically be a Prius with better mpg from a turbo!!!
