We can build them both with and without catalytic converters (single or dual). That shouldn't be a problem at all.

Talked to mmw68 and it looks like he is up for letting us use his truck for protyping. This should be a production item in the next couple of months, so keep your eyes peeled. I'll post updates in this thread after mmw68's truck is dropped off and we get started on the prototype process.

Great news. Looking forward to seeing this come to light.

In Need Of A New Exhaust

My 62 is pushing 250,000 miles and in need of a new exhaust system; been patched and repaired for too long. I am looking to replace my complete OEM exhaust system from the manifold on back... Y-pipe cat-converters muffler tail pipe etc.
Can you get me some more info. Would love to find a better flowing stainless system I could install.
Let me know if EMS is going to set us 60 Series guys up...!

On the topic of high performance exhaust systems, has anyone noticed that Man-A-Fre is developing a new style of header for the 3FE? Looks similar to the older style, but appears to solve the flange sealing problems by using ball & socket style flanges. Not sure if it'd solve the heat issue, but if it does (or can be wrapped), it looks like it'd be a great addition to the system in development here.

That's a real recent addition to their website. I wonder if they'll be offering the rest of the exhaust package to go with it. For now, everything from the manifold back says "currently not available".

where are we on this?

We should have room freed up in the shop to get mmw68's FJ62 in here to build the prototype in about 3 weeks.

We can build proper equal length tuned headers for the truck as well if there's enough interest. As far as heat issues, I'd recommend high temp ceramic coating. It works really well, and does not have the problems that wrapping will introduce.

If mmw68's truck for whatever reason become unavailable or if you need a second FJ62... ;)

BAKTASHT - My whole exhaust search began by looking at MAN-A-FRE's tuned headers. Which they seem to still depict, but do not offer - dicontinued. So if you can fab "proper equal length tuned headers for the (FJ62) truck as well " - I am sure there will be much interest.

I am assuming that a header system would not affect legal on road use. I know "We" all love bashing around off road - but reality is these trucks run on pavement more than "We" want to admit.

As you mention a high temp ceramic coating, on a header assembly should greatly reduce heating issues. Very interested in the complete run.

We have old trucks but you cant kill them!! Keep us posted... Please

Be VERY CAREFUL with this vendor. He makes a lot of promises, but does not follow through. He took my money and failed to deliver me the promised exhaust system. After he gets your money, he does not return phone calls. He does not return PMs. He does not supply the product for which you pay him.

Go here to read of my as yet unresolved troubles.

And if you think I'm an isolated case head on over to the MR2.com forum and do a little search on problems actually receiving product from this vendor.

That's too bad.. I would love to have this setup for my FJ62!!!

Is that it? Is this thing dead?

Not at all. We're still going ahead with this. Just a bit delayed as we catch up on other orders and get caught up after our move.

Hey baktasht.... I did go read some of the bad press... And it looks like you have backup order & shipping issues.
If you are too busy to fabricate the systems for a 62; than dont take orders...? Until you know you can produce product. I appreciate that you are willing to help us out.... but Crusier-heads are a unique bunch, we like our "Toy's"; relie on them and typically are very demanding of these old trucks. But we are even more demanding of the people we associate & do business with. We Look for honest quality and dependability!
If your still into producing this equipment.... Let us know where you stand, I am sure there will be a reasonable response. Thanks

Hi Fletcher, very valid points. As far as production on these and where we're at with the FZJ80 exhausts build queue, we will not start production on any other exhausts until we're caught up with everything. The plan is to catch up with and ship all FZJ80 exhaust orders, and build at least 3-4 assemblies that we can have "on-the-shelf" and ready to ship, that way people don't have to wait on the exhausts and we can get them shipped out ASAP. At that point we will start production on the FJ62 exhausts and do the same, have at least 3-4 assemblies on the shelf and ready to ship at all times possible.

We just celebrated our company's 5 year anniversary in December 2010, we've had tremendous support from the various communities that we offer services to and make parts for. We have definitely had our ups and downs, and have learned many valuable lessons along the way. We are at a place with the company now where one of the top goals is to get things organized in a manner that will allow for our next 5 years of growth in a much smoother and more controlled fashion than our first 5 years. We hope to be able to continue growing our line of custom parts and continue serving automotive enthusiasts both local and around the world.

so this wasnt too long ago. any new news on the system?

Exhaust system status

Has anybody received the new exhaust system, would like to get input and reviews if this ever finally happened. Any thoughts would be appreciated as I would love to get this setup but would like to know what everyone thinks if anyone actually got it.
