Guess I could post some kinda update...

Went to the LSLC round up down in Mason TX at K2 back near the end of march. I wheeled thur-sat Thursday being the first say we were allowed out. I promptly rolled it around noon Thursday. By accident... Also won be an award for it. Then after rolling it about a half hour later I took out something in the front axle. Pretty sure a ring and pinion problem of some sort but hoping for a locker failure... under load it acts as if the pinion is deflecting off of the ring gear. So I just wheeled it in 2wd the rest if the weekend and did 2 & 3 rated trails that people with front and rear lockers and 33-37's were getting hung up on!

Well it always did like naps

Also started prepping for my Dana 60 front axle swap. Decided to paint my Yukon 4340 chromoly shafts for a little extra bling factor. Also running the non greaseable factory Spicer u-joints in them.

I also pulled the front diff cover only to be horrified at what I found... I knew it was welded and figured if it was done by the same person who did the rear it would be fine... well it either wasn't by same person, or they had been drinking....

They took what was a limited slip front diff and half ass welded it up using bolts in the diff... all the welds were broke and it was full of slag...

So I ordered a spool since it was the cheapest way back to a locked front with good carrier again. Still gotta order gears tho as they ate obviously ruined from what I am guessing is a part of a bolt that broke loose and got into the teeth...

Where I finished today. Everything mocked up after paint and a shot of my helper, tho he did get a little camera shy while shaking my hand. I wasn't sold on the silver but seeing it together I think I am digging it now. I think once combined with the black axle and orange shafts after all together it will look really nice.

So is the Dana 60 under it yet :p

Not yet but I do have most everything now. I have enough to get it under it just haven't had a chance. Full hydro will still set me back a little when I do it.

You have hydro ... Just do cross over for now

It has a hard time now with an auto locker. I don't think it will handle the spool very well.

:meh: I DONT HAVE TO DRIVE :hillbilly: RUN IT

Be cheaper in the long run to just do it now.

Some updates

I dropped the rig off at the only person's house other than myself that i feel comfortable with working on it. He did my rear trac bar last season and i have beat it hard and had ZERO problems.

So i loaded her up and gave him all the parts for my front GM Dana 60 and told him what i wanted. So far the axle is out of the truck and the 60 is mocked up under it and has been fully rebuilt and gears all set up and spool installed.

I also painted her up, and installed some of the 7" HID's from ruffstuff, not done with all that yet as i took him the truck but i did get it mostly finished up.

Having issues loading the pics for some reason, but i will get em up when the techy stuff decides to cooperate with me.

How do you like those lights? I assume because last time I checked their site didn't say they were. But they aren't DOT approved are they?

Just checked, no dot tag

Red huh... Sweet I can paint the Runner orange then :D
