Home for the holidays after my first semester at college. Got Bluebonnet moving under her own power today! Exhaust goes in tomorrow, then on to tying up all the other loose ends to get her inspected and registered. Feels good to hit this milestone!

That is awesome! I am sure it is exciting to be able to drive out of the garage after all that work. That is a great looking 40. Good job.

Glad to see it running. I remember the first sight of it on the trailer in front of the Owl Cafe.
Yea John!!! That was a good time.

So been thinking about getting a custom relay and steering rods made.

Through some research and Mud support figured a way to keep it OEM (thread below). Initially looked at this option but found out rods for 70 series were pricey. Found a good deal on NOS.

I bought FJ70 tie rods from SOR that were about $300 and will use HD FJ70 tie rod ends. I am planning on using an FJ80 PS box.

Thanks Dennis, feels surreal for sure. Am following along with your build, looking forward to seeing you get that 45 out of the garage soon enough, great work, keep at it.

Thanks. Just picked her up from the exhaust shop and she’s super quiet, miss the rumble already.
Sweet. Post up how the pipes are routed when you get a chance.

Will do although the limiter vid will be on standby. Pulled into the driveway otw back from the exhaust shop and looks like the new Champion rad is seeping :(. Will dig into it tomorrow and see what I find.

Pulled the rad and got it tested, no leaks. Found the culprit when I went to assemble the lower rad hose. Thought I had enough clearance but the fan nicked the lower rad hose when the motor was under acceleration. Shaved an inch off my fan blades and she’s good to go, no more leaks. Also running temps still remain steady at around 190.

Running a vibrant performance resonator and flow master muffler. O2 sensor is threaded in where the down pipes merge together. Nice and quiet but still has a good low rumble. Will get some exhaust vids uploaded soon.

I would add another exhaust hanger towards the end of the tailpipe for when that one going sideways off the muffler splits :)
