Just dragged this home on Friday night. Four miles from my house…Crazy. Never knew it was there.

It’s a 1965 original LPB. “Blue Jay”
More to come as I sort it out.

Owner stated like they all do, “ it ran when parked down in the lower field”.
Well I dragged it home:
checked oil
checked water
pulled plugs
squirted a little Mystery oil in each cylinder “ Just in case” and let sit overnight
put a new battery in
added a little clutch and brake fluid
changed fuel filter
added some good fuel”tank was dry”
turned the key and it fired up and ran for for about 20 seconds and sounds great
tried several more times but I’m getting some calcium bits into the carb.
currently cleaning entire fuel system and carb.

Super excited….so far.
Stay tuned….

Actually Brian that’s a great idea If AV gas was reasonable. This however was hiding in plan site and I’ll bet I drove past it 10 times in the last several months.
Without noticing it. 😳

I know Brian, just when you think the well may have dried up with all the exposure, one pops up. Truly feel lucky, but the herd will need to be thinned for sure.

One little hole by the ignition key, no biggie. Yeah, not to many uncut dashes.

Lots of little stuff getting done.
Gas tank out for cleaning and sealing…never had one that didn’t seep
Changed oil
Correct new Plugs installed
Lubed everything
Working on rear lights, they work but need a good cleaning
Good wash job so I can see what I’m working with. Paint looks pretty good
Ordered parts from Mr. Toyota:
Electrical junctions up front
New turn signals
New marker lights
Hoses
Belts
Door rubber
All gaskets
Etc……….

I may have a Koito headlight from a 69’ parts truck. I will try to remember to look for it this weekend.

That would be awesome.
