im a closet 7* series lover.

Some times I wonder whether I should have "come out" ...................medication helps

Amazing work! I'm subscribed!

Thanks TLC appreciated!
I hope it is only a seat mount rail, I would prefer a small plate rather than extra supports.

Great work Billy, your making good progress and doing a quality job, cheers

Hey Jason, thanks..... hope you enjoyed your break with the family. Progress yes progress must make progress.

I did forget I had a couple of patches to finish in the drivers side rear light cavity so I finished them off late Sunday afternoon.
I had to shape some patches for a hole and another piece to fit as a false floor and to help seal the whole cavity off so water and dust does not enter like the other side.

Crappy welds but they are not seen and with some epoxy primer and polyurethane sealant and top coat and it will do the job.
The other side has a hole in the bottom so i shall drill one in this side too. I can always put a grommet in it.

Over the last couple of weeks I've prepped the whole body for final primer.
I made an alteration to the seat mount rail to take my suspension seats, cleaned up some welds, full body sand, wipe over and a final joint sealant.

After ringing around I could only get the exterior square grommets for the holes in my chassis - 10 for $92.00 plus frt and had to cut these down for the smaller holes in the inside so that's 20 all up.
What I decided to do was buy some fence caps for 25mm x 50mm tube, it's UV stable but has a thicker flange and a little bit bigger for some holes so it required some trimming........did I mention they were .81C ea?

I really want to follow as much of the original lines, dash layout, gauges etc as I can for this build but OEM square grommets for $200???

I used a dab of sealant in each corner and fitted the grommets.

Then sprayed inside the chassis with a cavity wax that fits straight onto my body gun with a long tube.

Sat the body on the chassis after a tense 1/2 hour of fishing around for the nylon olive thingy that fits on the bottom of the gear stick which had fallen off into the bowels of the gearbox when I decided to remove the gear stick "cause that will make it easier". I was lucky enough to find it with a piece of wire through the bottom plug hole, then I threaded another piece of wire through from on top till it came out the plug hole, looped it round the olive and pulled it back up.:nailbiting:

A couple of mates of my son, some pizzas, a few beers and walaah!

Motor fits with about 25mm to the firewall.
A one inch body lift is all I'll do??....I think

Grazie Compagno !

Good to see you made the mountain top now it's all down hill from here. :)

I’m glad to be working with smaller panels and fittings and being able to work inside the shed.
I sat on a chair the other day and cut grommets with a coffee…..luxury!

I hope it’s the top of the mountain………..hows the truck handling? Is she going to get papers before xmas?
