Thanks Jason, I really appreciate the help you and Ozcruiser have given me to source my suspension seats, also all the tech advice.
In fact I'd like to thank everyone who has either PM me or given advice in this thread, NZcruiser for putting up with my dumb questions.:bang:

Jason: I am picking the chairs up on Friday morning, and will give you a call re: my chairs

I picked the 2pac primer I am using because it is a product I have used before on steel shop fronts facades close to the beach and used it on my trailer 15 years ago and all have held up very well. The Council use it on galvanised streetscape for harsh environments.

I am going to use a 2pac ute liner also on the bottom of the body, the fire wall and the floor of the body. I have not used this product before and have seen positive feedback and also some bad feedback but I have seen that about ALL the other products too. From what I can gather the most important part is the preparation and the primer. The bad feedback was mainly about an out of date batch that obviously sat on the shelf too long. I can get this stuff wholesale so I suppose this was the major $$ reason (tight ass).

It still needs a final sand and some transport and automotive sealant for some joints then the ute liner.

What a transformation, once you put your primer on, it looks brand new, If your putting this much pride and work into the floor etc, can't wait to see how this rig is going to evolve, hats off to you Billy,

My wife wondered why we took my ute to a job of hers up north over the weekend ;)

Landcruiser parts seem to have their own currency.
I passed on an old floor pan and a pair of 60 series suspension seats to some mudders who needed them and in return I got:
A set of factory flares
A set of inner guards
A pair of 73 series suspension bases (not shown)
A couple of grills
Front indicators and some trims.

Oldtoy sent me some information regarding my seat mounts recently and it looks like some of the seat mount towers will have to be cut off and apparently there are nuts set in the floor ribs on the underside to take the suspension bases. So I will drill through from underneath the floor where the "X" is and the red circles are the cuts.

I have also discovered that two of the seat belt captive nuts are missing. One seems to have fallen out and the other one is not there because it had a 11/2 chair on the passenger side and was not needed?? but I am going with 2 bucket seats and a centre console so I cut a hole in the floor again so I could weld some thicker plate and a 7/16unf nut to the underside. To be sure To be sure....

I also fitted a 3/16" thick plate from wheel arch to wheel arch to stop any water that gets through the aluminium tub and reaches the floor in the rear otherwise it will enter the cab area. Once the primer is on I will use a sealant bead then go over the lot with the ute liner.

First I made a template, then I cut it out and welded it in. This position will allow me to have a small alcove for storage from inside the cab and under the tub.

Looking good. It's amazing how much better something looks when it's all 1 colour

That's normal as the mail go's to Sydney and then back to the Kempsey sorting depot then back to Sydney then back to Coffs Harbour. :)

It didn't stay 1 colour for long thanks to the seatbelt mounts but I still have a bit of rust removal around the windscreen anyway so I will have one more opportunity to touch up with the 2 pac primer. The main aim was to stop the bare metal from flashing over with rust.

I had some steel bent to suit the old windscreen angles then Ken put a small camber in it and i drilled it for spot welding.

If I lived in Port Macquarie the Aussie post B-Double would drive past 4 times before the local post office would deliver it on the honda 110 scooter.
I was starting to like you Billy but now you brought the footy up :bang: and I thought you where my friend. ;)
