Matt, we tried pushing on the shifter to get it out and it was not depressing, I will search on how to remove.

Also Big T, make sure your heater control valve is not all full of scale from the block. That will impede your coolant flow into the core.

Yes - if I recall you do NOT push on the shifter itself. You can use both of your thumbs and push down on the collar that you see in TJ's picture there. You push down and clockwise. Once that collar pops up (think small lightbulb, you know how to change those - you push down and turn...) you can then remove the shifter by pulling up.

Sometimes those collars get fouled up with goop, junk, and debris - but you can fiddle with them to get them out. Clearly the guy (hope thats not yours) in the picture above tried using a chain saw to get his out.

This is coming along NICELY - you are doing a great job.

Keep up the good work man,

dallas

Cool Thomas!

Who did the blasting?

I had dad's buddy Kieth blast for me at dad's place. Turned out really nice other then the rust holes. But Clarence should be able to patch most of them up.

I need some help again. What is everbodys thoughts on fiberglass tub? Pros/Cons? Are they a pain to work with? Any thoughts will help. Thanks.

Thomas

If your going to wheel your 40 and bump into any rocks its crack. If your just going to drive it I've heard they are nice. I like the original all steel 40's myself but thats just preference.

Good luck.

I thought you were going Pacol tub?

I think that is the way im leaning. Dallas said that that should be the way to go. What are your thoughts? He also said the Pilgram tubs are pretty awsome to just alittle more expensive.
