I am looking for Judson Green as well now.
Seems you never really found it did you?

I discovered in the Dupont color chart T453 is listed synonymous with 632 which is listed by Toyota as Dark Green. Obviously not the same color but Dupont (and maybe PPG) think they are.

i just decided to go with the range rover green

I have followed your lead and am looking at the Rover greens. I think there are over 50 non-metalic Rover greens. I am leaning towards British Racing Green or Brooklands Green.

The range rover green (Center of the 3 greens) in the pic is:

PPG Omni Single stage non metallic

Omni Au (MAE) 47410
Land and Range Rover Coniston Olive Green

I might actually shoot the tub in the next week or so! The winter camaro project is off to paint, so I have time to work on the cruiser again (Don't ask how I got 2 projects going at once)

Got a little time tonight, so I did a little work on the right rear. I had already cut out the bad part of the corner, but the inner brace was rusty also. It was only in the middle, so I fabbed a piece to go in, marked and drilled the tire carrier holes. Had to make sure all the holes lined up for the tire carrier, so I measured from the top of the tub to the center of the top hole--15 5/8". Then I took a jig saw and cut the center of the brace out.
Now I can weld the piece into the brace. Once that is done, I will mount the tire carrier, make sure it lines up and tack the inner brace to the quarter. Then I can put the piece in for the quarter panel, and drill the holes from the inside out.

Pics are the piece in place, not welded yet. Ran out of time.

I would like to know a little more about your rear corner braces. Did you also provide the perch for the body mount, did this year even have the body mount? what did you use for the brace? did you use a pattern, or did you just make it? I am asking because my corners, and braces, were pretty much gone. I have new metal in the corners, but have been looking for something like you did to replace the brace. I am not replacing the tire carrier, so it is just an issue of the body mount, and some stability for the corner.
Thanks.
I really like your roll cage braces, as well. I think I may end up copying that!

I did not have a perch. The corner brace sat on a pad, and bolted to the frame.

I just made the corner brace

ok, I guess perch was the wrong word. I was just referring to the way the mount pad slides over, and bolts through, that brace. Are you bolting that brace down to the frame?

I didn't replace the whole brace, just the center. So yes--i will still bolt through the brace

Just to show progress, I got the bodywork about done. Sprayed with surfacer yesterday. Now blocking begins. I know these weren't real straight from the factory, so I will do the best I can.

Might get it in paint before the end of the month!

Question for those that have painted the tub.

--Did you paint the whole tub at once,
or do the outside, then the inside,
or the inside then the outside

I'm afraid that I will mess up the paint crawling around dragging the hose and gun if I try to paint the whole thing at once. In my mind, painting the inside, and taping it off and doing the outside sounds like the best alternative.

Chime in!

PROGRESS!!!

Well, only a month later, and I am finally showing some progress. Got the inside of the tub, dash and firewall in color. WHOHOO!!!

OK--bad news--had some spitting with the gun, so I have to repaint the dash and firewall. When I say this, I decided not to put all the coats on, so I have some light spots and misses to hit. Will redo this week. Not a big deal--getting color in the tub was a big deal

PROGRESS--

Got the rusty cruiser in the shop to begin teardown. WOW, I don't think I ever used a hot wrench so much in one day! I actually think it will go together easier than it came apart!

Got the tub and the frame separated, tub on stands, and getting ready to power wash the frame and drivetrain tomorrow. The frame is pretty tough, so I may end up using the 66 frame, but I won't know until I get the crap off of the 70. Then the plan is for sandblasting the frame, disc brakes, power steering, change out the thirds for 3:73's, trips to Poser for parts.

Then I will put the redone tub on the redone frame, and begin transfering and cleaning parts from the rusty cruiser to the redone tub.

Fun Fun Fun!!!

Got the frame stripped down, and the axles out. Broke a dozen bolts, so I am going to have to buy a metric tap and die set.

Also took a lot of measurements, as I am going to cut the rear of the frame off, and weld on the rear part from a donor frame. Note pic of the hole in the rear pass side of the frame.

This weekend will be my favorite job---sandblasting--if it ever quite frikken raining!@!! After that, it will be priming the frame, then going through the axles.

Made a trip to Posers today--dropped off a bunch of money, and left with a bunch of parts for the disc brake swap, 3rd member swap, swapped birfs, and related bearings and gaskets.

I like the green - almost an olive green

And I thought my LX chassis was rusty - when I look at yours I see only hours with the sandblaster, welder and plates - but enjoy. :steer:

SANDBLASTiNG!!!

I spent most of Saturday sandblasting. Didn't finish, because of a few issues

1) My sand was wet--had to go get more
2) the ball valve wore a hole in it, had to replace
3) the hose wore through 3 times--had to keep cutting it shorter
4) thern the coupling at the bottom of the tank wore a hole in it. DIdn't have one--do I was done.

Got a lot of parts done--diffs, engine mounts, trans hump, part of 2 frames (blasted the back of one I was cutting off). I am putting different thirds in I got from poser, so I swapped them on the front axle twice, since it was apart, so I got them both done.

Happy fathers day

So today being fathers day, we had breakfast with the family, then my wife said--you can work in your shop all day. Love those type of presents!

So today, I decided to tackle replacing the back of the frame. The right rear side and rear rail were rusted out.

First I took all kinda of measurements and diagonals to make sure I did it right. I also did a hieght measurement, then made some legs to hold up the new piece to weld in. A lot of cutting and grinding, and jockying around. I welded the outside and top of the rails, then put a diamond on the inside for added strength. Ground down the top and outside welds. Haven't welded the bottom yet. Not good at up side down, so when I get the frame out to sandblast again, I'll weld them.

The legs were really a labor saver. When it is all together, my measurements were all right on.

Sandblasting done!!!

Finished up the sandblasting yesterday--Frame looks pretty goot. Also cleaned up the trans and transfer case.

tlc_4play--Hows it look now? Yes, it was rusty!

Next up---painting!

Trans/Transfer will get Eastwood Alumiblast
Frame will get POR Rust Encapsulator--then Eastwood Chassis Black.
