Hey Matey, This build has a stock a/c and probably had a stock p/s before it was removed in its previous life. There are a few signs of proof like the triple wee harmonic balancer, the double wee water pump pulley and a (!) short steering shaft. So to say it was a stock p/s and a/c troopy and its what is going back to be.
And we do have the "croc dundee" spirit here - dont' you just worry about that! ok, we melted the guns down and that was a big setback on our Liberty compared to you guys but no condition is permanent.. thats history anyway.
Wrapped exhaust? Hmm.. some good thoughts for the mind Thanks anyway

I call those "I'm taking the H3 Hummer" days.... that said, part of why I painted mine as I did and built it like I did was to make it as bearable as possible in hot weather (exhaust wrapped, on outside of frame, spray on insulation on the floor - both sides, tan paint, light colored top and light colored bikini top. I also have seat coolers - basically it's a seat pad that has tubes in it and it pumps ice-water through the tubes... it's pretty amazing how well it works).... worst case, I have my cooling vest I use for racing...


but still, would Crocodile Dundee have A/C? I think my image of Australians has been tarnished (even more so then what I see on MCM).

Chromoly front bearing hubs and new rotor assembled. The feont hubs were dicontinued but luckily I found this amazingly rare replacement.
The old hubs were bashed to hell by previous "experts" removing cone washers.. its nice to freshen up the front hardware and useful preserving the spindles and ensure safe and smooth ride.

I just rebuilt my center arm too! I noticed on yours the bottom seal is installed differently than I did. See this photo lifted from @Coolerman 's rebuild. I'm confused now...

That seal looks backwards

I was trying to find some other photos of it installed but had no luck. I did stumble upon this but I'm not certain it represents the same type of seal.

Have you used oem seal? If you have used non-oem seal than it may not be necessarily backwards. Maybe the seal has a recessed face profile.
This is no different to any oil seal, there is only one way to install, and that is the open side inwards and the closed outwards. The cutaway of the seal is like a squared U shape. The bottom of the U should be outwards. I cant even immagine if it's possible to insert the other way as it wouldn't taper in its place. I think you have done it ok, its just a different make seal with a different profile look.

I was actually wondering of something here.. when I put together this steering centre I had a look of the FSM and there is another spacer ring on the bottom of the shaft between the oil seal and the arm. It is like a rubber spacer.. with purpose (?) I can only think to prevent the oil seal popping out under pressure if over filled with grease.
When I took it apart it had no spacer ring like that and there were no other ring in the oem kit either.
However, the FSM shows there is and I checked my 84'LX and there is also a ring there. Should I pull it apart and die cut a 1/4" thick nitrile ring or not??
