Yeah, I eventually will get a 100 to go with my 80 and that price tempted me to make it happen quicker than anticipated. But I didn't see it for a couple days since they posted it on a Sun. I started thinking it was a bogus post since it sounded to good to be true.
Well good luck with it!

I think the :princess: and I are going to pick up a 100 for her this week. She's tired of driving the beater, no AC, mismatched body panels, no rear bumper 4runner while I rebuild the axles on the 80...and drive the Tundra around.

Thanks, I honestly wasn't even looking for a 100 (although I had wanted one for the wife for a while, and even more so after our accident), but I saw that locally and knew what they normally go for, and went and checked it out. All dealer maintained service was up to date (they had all the records), as well as the usual 100 items like brakes, rotors, starter, wheel bearings, etc. were all replaced. It just needed a good detailing inside and out. I'm stoked on it, it drives really nice, handles well, very comfortable, feels safe and solid. Almost too nice, I still want another 80. Hopefully the 4Runner will sell soon. I've had a lot of interest since I posted it the other night.

Anyone ever seen this rig or met the owner? Seems like it could be a nice truck: https://forum.ih8mud.com/vehicles-t...-1995-well-built-locked-fzj80-170-000-mi.html

I spoke with him on the phone. It seems like a nice truck and I probably would have bought it except for some reason the PO to him removed all the VIN tags. I can't think of a good reason to do such a thing. In fact I can only think of bad reasons. Plus it has a CEL and he says he just disconnects the battery and it passes smog no problem. These are two major read flags for me.

Those have been my two hangups on this one too. He said the CEL is for O2 sensors. I figured as a CA truck, he would be responsible for passing smog prior to sale if it was staying in CA, so I wasn't overly concerned on that one. But removing VIN tags is odd, I agree 100%. Never got a real clear answer on why the PO found the need to remove those. He said the title was clear/clean, and CHP issued replacement tags and found it never was stolen. Definitely a red flag, but figured it might be worth checking out. Thanks.

Slight change of plans. I found a great deal on a 100-series over the weekend I couldn't pass on. So the wife is going to take that one over and I am going to sell her 4Runner and then get an 80 for me. If anyone knows of anyone looking for a clean, low miles 3rd gen 4Runner, let me know.

Thanks.

Sold the 4Runner last night.....back on the hunt for the 80. The wife is quickly tiring of me playing musical vehicles. Hopefully I'll find one quickly.

Quicker than I expected, but not complaining. I may have it narrowed down to two (as of right now, but tomorrow's a new day). One built with higher miles, one stock with lower miles. Leaning towards the built one so it is done (I think the wife is tired of vehicle projects right now). I'm on the fence. But, happy wife, happy life, so we'll see.

Went and picked up a '95 yesterday. Locked, OME 4" lift, 4.88s, Longfields, 35's, sliders, bumper, winch. Needs a few things, might change some things, but should work right out of the gate for now.

Started checking and baselining it last night. I'll get it cleaned up and get pics up later.

Congrats! Was this the one with the missing VIN tags?

Thanks. Yeah, looked at the title and ran the carfax and everything was clean (although bizarre), and all CA registration was current. O2's were replaced and passed smog with no issues. We'll see how it treats me.
