After black bear we did Imogene to get back to Ouray. Then we took I think mineral creek which hits engineer on to lake city. Mineral creek had the Shepard with his flock of sheep which was pretty cool. Sounds like a really fun time.

awesome wheelin up there! I've never done Stony Pass before...know there is the river crossing at the Rio Grande near the headwaters. I've also wanted to check out the Beartown ghost town site as a possible camp and hiking area. You could spend weeks down there. Where you staying at Silverton?

Had some friends that stayed at one of the hotels in Silverton when they got married, it is their anniversary and they wanted to go back. It is 3 stories IIRC. Besides less camping gear to pack. :) they say the water can be 2 ft deep at times, nothing gets wet till around 3ft and been through 4+ without incident as long as it isn't too fast.

How much traffic do you typically encounter? Was going to hit Black Bear as early as possible to miss some of it.

Been a lot of RV's passing through with decent buggies that look a bit over built for Colorado, maybe their heading to Moab?

:DQuite a bit of traffic.' Black bear is less
Because the jeep rental are not allowed on that one. Engineer will be the most busy as the 4 wheelers like to ride those type. Moab is not to far
:D

I agree with Matt...less on Black Bear...but everyone else is out on the rest of the trails. Its starting to get later in the year so traffic may be starting to come down a bit. I noticed it up near Leadville this week, much fewer people than a few weeks ago. 3 stories...must be the Grand Imperial. Cool place, squeaky beds, semi-hot water, hear every creek and noise...don't worry...just one of the 16 known ghosts there!

As long as they get along with the cruiser gods I'm good with it. The floors are very squeeky! Had a medium long day, came across stony (some traffic but not bad), came into Silverton for a burger then went to Animas (lots more traffic) and came out corkscrew on 20 and 550. Made a run into Ouray looking for U-bolts for the Bronco but no dice. Will be looking tomorrow AM. Lots of beautiful country, but the more I drive around the closer I get to coils and bigger tires with no air in them.

Here is an LED place that was posted on the other forums. They offer a lifetime warranty which would come in handy. And they aren't to badly priced.

They have some pretty neat products...

Curious how Blanca Peak compares to the Rubicon. From the pictures, Blanca looked nasty .

Well I asked Jess what she thought since she has done both. She said if you take the easier lines on the rubicon it would be the same difficulty as Blanca. The only difference you don't have the death factor of Blanca but you have a couple squeeze points that could cause body damage. You could make the rubicon harder if you wanted too she said. she pulled a trailer through the rubicon when she did it a couple of years ago.

No cruiser content but I found this hilarious. Now, I don't speak Dutch and you don't need to either to enjoy this

At the 5:20 mark, isn't that a jeep guy?

Ha! That's funny............haven't seen that guy since the Christmas tree run. :(

And man, Rubithon looks like fun!

Go to the mall one and save yourself the hassle. Dude explained why this other guy most likely sucked and it's due to laziness and being a wuse. Just hit him up and ask for an explanation if the numbers can't be hit. Next alignment I am giving him a good tip, plus the lifetime warranty is well worth it for what we do with our mall crawlers.

Went to Firestone today and met with their alignment guy. We walked out, looked at the 100's suspension, and he said that the alignment should be no problem. Thanks again for the tip Matt, the guys were very helpful and had a great sense of humor, well at least until I offered to trade my HF torgue wrench for their nice shiny Snap-On wrench. :)

Also bought the lifetime alignment (any Firestone anywhere, as many times as you want).

Usually $179.99...now on sale for $159.99!!! That's the price of two alignments at Toyota.
