There's no doubt that when the first major body damage happens, the fenders will get sawzall'd out, 4.88's will go in, and she will be shod with 35's. trying to keep it reasonably nice so I can give Claire the vehicle I brought her home from the hospital in - when she's driving in 5 years. She's already told me she wants it for her first vehicle. Lol. So proud.

Happy 16th Claire!

:D

Just kiddin'!

That's a great story about bringing Claire home in the Cherokee. Sort of like me being brought home in the 55....... :hmm: Maybe Claire will have extreme brand loyalty to Jeep. :D

I doubt it about the Jeep loyalty. She'll probably want a car because I hate cars. Lol. Teen girls, always doing the opposite of what their parents want.

Bought her a new to her ATV today, Polaris 250 trail boss. She's mastered and outgrown the 50CC ATV we have. Time for bigger, but she'll hate the helmet and chest protector.

Brett if you got some pics it would be awesome if you would put them up.
Luke would the 23 and 24 of august work for you? Seems like a date that would work for most for Blanca.
As long as I am not broke down by then I would like to go. I got Poughkeepsie and grizzly coming up that may do me in.

Well, working again = some disposable income = itching for upgrades.

Thinkin' about a front bumper.

Here are the off the shelf offerings:

Make one? I assure you if you put any value on your time it will be cheaper to buy one, but more satisfying to build your own. I like the lower profile of the Slee, but I would want to add some upper protection.

I'm really hoping that we could run Blanca on either fri 8/22 or sat 8/23. Have two friends to ride along and hike the peaks around the lake. Between Luke and Bret I'm sure we have the expertise and equipment to get it done!

If you plan to hike the peak you may want to give yourself prolly 5 hours on the top. We met a few folks coming down at Como that had left at daybreak from Como, they may have been doing little bear though.

I am no expert, but I'm happy to tag along and help where I can. I was very fortunate with good weather and no mechanical trouble, it seems like a trail that under ideal conditions is a walk in the park, and under bad would be downright dangerous if not impossible.

I'm in for a Blanca trip as well, though I may trailer my 80 down there since it's slow and it's easier to tow it that far lol. Any place I can drop a trailer near or around the trailhead?

So we are in agreement on the august 23-24 on Blanca? I am in as long as the rigs working. There is one other fj that may want to do this if she doesn't head to Alabama during that time. And just so everyone understands that people have died on this trail and it's nothing to take lightly. If the weather is bad I will be out. No need to attempt the hardest trail For me so far in the rain. Brett we are planning on camping up there, is that something you would want to do?

I am going to Buenavista 8,9,10 of August as long as Blanca is on the 23,24. I can't do the 15th because of a wedding. I plan on doing a trail on Friday (not sure yet which one), grizzly on Saturday then pack up camp and do tin cup all the way through on Sunday for the ride home. Anyone is welcome to come along.

1 vote TJM T13! Don't like the ARB'a giant breakable plastic inserts, the BIOR winch fairlead position is way too vulnerable, and the Slee is ugly :D

I don't recall plastic inserts in mine, yours has them on the Jeep? Where are they?

Stout enough to keep me from bending the 80 body panels when I hit that tree  But then again the 100s are fatter...and given Travis' tendency to hit things lately I would go for the protection vs. short bus rock crawler style.

Assuming nothing comes up at work for August 23-24, I will plan on Blanca.

We may come down to BV as well on August 9, just for a day trip. That'll be Jillian's first weekend without any horse shows, so she doesn't want to spend it all wheeling/camping

Travis, I'm gonna vote for the t13 followed by the slee. I don't know if I could find my way to dropping 1500 on even a very nice bumper, though. The BIOR bumper looks great, but I'm not sure the bar work looks good. you can see that the headlight protection is a much smaller diameter tube.
