Selling my RHD diesel 80 which was my daily driver for a few years, but I've been using it less and less. Not a perfect show truck by any means, but still gets the thumbs up! Original Japan import to Canada, currently registered in Alberta and located in Arizona, includes USDOT, Customs and EPA forms for registering in the USA. Its been driven in Canada, western US and Mexico so has some rock chips, dings and scratches, hood paint is peeling, surface rust on underbody and axles, tire tread is about 40-50% but rubber is getting old/hard, new windshield last year, 2 new batteries in 2014 along with front axle rebuild including brake rotors and pads all around (rear brakes are unique to this model so a new set is included for future replacement). Timing belt at 96k. Overall a great running Cruiser I wouldn't hesistate to drive across the country (and recently have) with an interior in above average condition, but exterior is showing some age and wear due to offroading, winter driving and desert heat.

Thanks DDabs! I can include a like new 1 year old ARB 82qt Fridge/Freezer with transit cover to sweeten the deal if anyone is interested.

This seems like a steal. Too bad it's does not have 3rd row with seat belts...and an H55--or I would own it. Great truck.
From what I gather, third row was never available in the early HDJ81s although I heard of a couple diehard owners doing a conversion.
I was real keen to find a 5spd too, but the rarity and value (about double the autos) made it real tough. Having the auto, it really excels as a daily driver, plus I believe the Limited trim comes with automatic only. If it were more of a trail weapon I can imagine the H55f would be amazing!

yeah h151 would be great on wallet and mpg's
I've heard the lower 5spd gearing tends to need taller tires to help highway "cruisability" despite having a higher factory axle ratio of 3.73. The automatic overdrive is really comfortable at higher speeds which helps the mpgs. I usually set the cruise at 65-70mph (about 2100rpm) returning 20-22mpg, or about 450 miles to the tank. Stop and go city driving knocks that down to 15-17mpg with a range of 350 miles. Best tank ever was over 600 miles all highway at about 50-55mph or about 29mpg. And for those curious I once had to tow a 2014 Rav4 using an auto transport trailer from Uhaul (about 5800lbs total) a distance of 250 miles on the highway at about 65mph and got 14 mpg.

how do they figure the import duty at the customs ? do they simply ask the owner the value on the customs paperwork or do they blue book a gas 80 series? ( which should be alot cheaper id bet)

Wow that's nice looking. Is the rust limited to underbody surface?

What are the rear cargo area windows like on these? I've always liked the idea of them sliding open but can't tell on these.

3rd row seats weren't offered on diesel HDJ81's, and they all came with the monsoon windows for the cargo area (non-sliding). Nice clean truck, GLWS!

There is some rust starting on the bottom edge of the doors and some rusty rock chips here and here from gravel roads. Some rust also at the bottom trim of the cargo area windows. Ian is right, diesel 81s never had third seats, hence no sliding windows either. And thanks Ian, had it out for a drive today and it starts and runs like a champ here in AZ!
