Really wish I knew why it got taken off of the road so soon. Most of the floor under the sound proofing is still green. Good solid bones to work with. Rear fender flare areas need attention, one rocker is dented but both are solid.

Spent some time playing Tetris with land cruisers so I could roll rotisserie outside. Plan to pressure wash the last of the dirt and debris out, then look closer for rust.

Not a bad disease to have, as far as diseases go.

Pressure washing really cleaned things up. Hosed out dirt from waaay back. Found a little mote rust where back seat meets floor, but not too bad. Think I will make patches for holes instead of using BobM’s. Save them for another pig.

Managed to get some frame painting done. Two coats of Chassis Saver silver, followed by Chassis Saver satin black. Got springs, hangers, frame extensions ready to put back together. Need to finish cleaning up and painting the sway bar and bump stops. Only broke 2 bolts in disassembly, one bump stop and one on the spring hanger. Had to replace the nut for the bump stop. Once bump stops are on time to flip frame over and finish the top side. Got the new motor mount started for the Benz. All in all a good couple of days. Pear tree was loaded this year. Put up 10 gallons of pear sauce in my spare time.

I'm jealous about this. I have one apple tree and only expect one apple pie from it each year, but no the damn squirrels got all of them again this year. I got even though, trapped and ate 6 squirrels!

Squirrels and deer got our apples. Got a fair amount of pears before we harvested. Most we’ve ever gotten since moving here 6 years ago.

Given the change in weather, I decided to flip frame and finish painting. Think I can get it done this week with the warmer temps predicted. Couldn’t resist rolling the Benz motor into its future home.

Had a nice visit with Scrapdaddy yesterday. We traded some parts back and shared stories. Seeing Slow71 up close was inspirational. Need to find a way to get more garage time! Thanks for the tasty treats. Hope those pears yield a good cobbler.
