Where do I begin... I love this FJ62 and frankly I spared no expense because of sentimental value since it was the exact same make/model/year as the rig that my family owned for 10 years and that started this disease/love for Land Cruisers. That being said, all I can say is that this one is dialed. I never in a million years foresaw all of the small things that would go into bringing something back to OEM+, but I know now and have a full spreadsheet of parts/cost for everything. I know I started with a Southern owned NON-RUSTY good vehicle and made it A LOT better from there.

I enlisted @cruisermatt for the significant upgrade/change with adding the H55f 5-speed because of his experience with that swap and I can attest that it has been done in a very professional no-short-cut way, including custom fabbed parts, and OEM bolts, retainers, screws, boots, etc wherever possible.

The rest of the work was done by 2 local professional shops except for the interior work which was done by my buddy @SkeeLo22 and me because it took like 100 hrs

Really the best place to see where this rig started and where it's at now is in my build thread HERE. I tried to document nearly every step in the process there...

I love the rig, it frequently gets driven as a daily driver and I take it without fear up to our cabin in Western NC. The H55f 5-speed makes it a joy to drive rowing the gear lever. It's got plenty of pep with the manual transmission and since it's still got the original 3FE, being able to downshift on steep grades is very appreciated. The engine was rebuilt under the previous owner's ownership in Mobile, AL with a refurbished head and all OEM parts (he said it took quite some time bc of all of the parts chasing) @ 280K miles but I don't have paperwork for that work. Basically everything else has been replaced or works as it should. The one item that does NOT work, and I really don't have the desire to chase it is the rear driver window, it kinda works, but not like you'd want it to, the motor is fine and I can share all the details I have for the new owner. The rig is SORTED and mechanically excellent condition. The paint has some clear coat fading on the roof and the tops of the doors but it's a 35 year old vehicle and that's how I like my vintage rigs to look. I will say the only real reason I'm selling is because I'm embarking on an FJ40 LS-Swap build (along with 2 non-running FJ40s, a 1st gen Tacoma, a 1981 Ford F-100, and a Tesla Model Y) and I just don't think I drive enough to warrant having thaaaaaat many cars  or so I've been told. Also to note, and I'm equally proud/surprised by this one... doesn't drip a drop of oil or fluids to mark its territory... but if an all-Toyota build is what you're looking for, this one's for you...

I'm giving her a full detail and installing the hood insulator next week, but thought I'd go ahead and post here if anyone is in the market or about to be. I'll get more pictures of the current state then, but pictures in my build thread are recent. I'll have detailed pics including underside next week.

Purty.

If I remember correctly, you have pretty new CATS yeah?

Who made that trans mount? Cruiser Matt?
Yes the trans mount is a @cruisermatt special. Far as the CATS go, if you say it's the newer version, then I agree. I didn't realize that because the exhaust system was already on the rig when I purchased it...

These are your cats (catalytic converters):

I’m probably mistaken on who I spoke with about this. However, those look like the newer version of the available Cats.

Matt’s stuff is on point and a great selling feature.

Oh man... I replied to one for sale post thinking it was another... so I thought we were talking about my FJ40 stuff for sale :)

Yes, I suppose that those are newer Cats, but they were on the truck when I bought it. I am going to edit my response above... I had a brain-fart when responding...

I would sell my left nut and my Tundra (in that order) to buy this beauty. What an amazing project and the documentation is out of this world. I can't see why it would go for less than $60k on BaT.

I feel like BAT may be a crapshoot, the rig is goooooood though. Been driving the 40 with h55 in it for the last week and took the 62 this morning to an appointment, yeah, it’s a big difference for sure. The 62 just feels like a Toyota flagship and the h55 makes it soooo much more pleasant to drive.

I have parking spaces… so it can hang a while and just get driven.

Last price drop. $40K firm. If it doesn’t sell here at that price, gonna delete my sale thread and roll the dice with Bring a Trailer!!

Maybe you should take it to BAT 😳

Maybe you should take it to BAT 😳

For real! I saw that today... it's definitely the next step. By EOM if she's not in someone else's driveway, I'll delete this FS thread and start the process. I'm not greedy. I don't neeeeeeeed $70K+... I'll settle for $60K ;)

Can't build this in its current state for your asking price. If anyone is interested they should make the play. GLWS, hopefully you dont have to go BAT.
Someone that knows what’s up. Part of my trying here first is I don’t really want it going into someone’s garage as a prop and much rather it get used by a mudder 🤷🏾‍♂️

But if it doesn’t get scooped up… gotta do what I gotta do…

Thanks for the words though… pretty proud of how it turned out.

Sorry for the double post. Internet issues. Man I am sooooo tempted on this one. I have been following this and your build.
No worries… we’re just a hop, skip, and a jump from SC… here all weekend.
