Where do I begin... I love this FJ62 and frankly I spared no expense because of sentimental value since it was the exact same make/model/year as the rig that my family owned for 10 years and that started this disease/love for Land Cruisers. That being said, all I can say is that this one is dialed. I never in a million years foresaw all of the small things that would go into bringing something back to OEM+, but I know now and have a full spreadsheet of parts/cost for everything. I know I started with a Southern owned NON-RUSTY good vehicle and made it A LOT better from there.

I enlisted @cruisermatt for the significant upgrade/change with adding the H55f 5-speed because of his experience with that swap and I can attest that it has been done in a very professional no-short-cut way, including custom fabbed parts, and OEM bolts, retainers, screws, boots, etc wherever possible.

The rest of the work was done by 2 local professional shops except for the interior work which was done by my buddy @SkeeLo22 and me because it took like 100 hrs

Really the best place to see where this rig started and where it's at now is in my build thread HERE. I tried to document nearly every step in the process there...

I love the rig, it frequently gets driven as a daily driver and I take it without fear up to our cabin in Western NC. The H55f 5-speed makes it a joy to drive rowing the gear lever. It's got plenty of pep with the manual transmission and since it's still got the original 3FE, being able to downshift on steep grades is very appreciated. The engine was rebuilt under the previous owner's ownership in Mobile, AL with a refurbished head and all OEM parts (he said it took quite some time bc of all of the parts chasing) @ 280K miles but I don't have paperwork for that work. Basically everything else has been replaced or works as it should. The one item that does NOT work, and I really don't have the desire to chase it is the rear driver window, it kinda works, but not like you'd want it to, the motor is fine and I can share all the details I have for the new owner. The rig is SORTED and mechanically excellent condition. The paint has some clear coat fading on the roof and the tops of the doors but it's a 35 year old vehicle and that's how I like my vintage rigs to look. I will say the only real reason I'm selling is because I'm embarking on an FJ40 LS-Swap build (along with 2 non-running FJ40s, a 1st gen Tacoma, a 1981 Ford F-100, and a Tesla Model Y) and I just don't think I drive enough to warrant having thaaaaaat many cars  or so I've been told. Also to note, and I'm equally proud/surprised by this one... doesn't drip a drop of oil or fluids to mark its territory... but if an all-Toyota build is what you're looking for, this one's for you...

I'm giving her a full detail and installing the hood insulator next week, but thought I'd go ahead and post here if anyone is in the market or about to be. I'll get more pictures of the current state then, but pictures in my build thread are recent. I'll have detailed pics including underside next week.

Nice ride!

What % tint did you put on there? Build thread says Llumar CTX.

It looks really nice!

Good luck with the sale
I don’t remember exactly but I think it was just 15%, one of their lightest tints but the fact that it was ceramic tint made the effectiveness of the tint great… you know the 62 is like a fish bowl in terms of being able to see basically everything around you and the rig used to get sooooo hot, but not nearly as much with the tint…

I love it and thanks for the compliment!

I missed that you were selling this, such a nice rig.
Best of luck.
Curious what your thoughts about selling on BAT are?

I honestly am not ready for the gamble that BAT is at the moment… especially because I love driving it still 🤣… really just a situation where I’m currently not able to justify (to my wife) why I need 3 x cars for myself when I work from home…

Ditch the Tesla, easy.
While I would… that’s my wife’s car and she loves dog mode for our 3 idiot dogs too much to ever do that. Not to mention, for a point A to point B kind of scenario, it’s pretty unbeatable. We’ve put ~40K miles on it in 1.5 years and there’s been zero maintenance and a lot less trips to the gas station.

Don’t get me wrong I love gassers and especially the Toyota Land Cruiser type obv, but for the commuter, the Tesla gotta stay. Also it has nitro trail grapplers and a 2” puck lift for our place in western NC, so it’s aight…

That leaves the wife…
If she wasn't so darn rad, that may be the way... but alas, she puts up with a lot and still chooses to share a bed with me...

Sounds a lot like mine…

Bumping with a price drop $43,000... just got back from Travel Soccer with my kiddo, an hour each way in the 62, she's covered in pollen but purring like a kitten. I’m always open to hearing offers…

Nice truck. What % tint did you go with?
It was the lightest they had but still with the ceramic in it so actual sun shading is still great in my fish bowl.

This is a how-to on how to wash your cruiser as a CPA in the middle of tax season. #letitrain

She'll be headed into Merriam Automotive Monday (IYKYK) for some spa-time...

Couple of small things to take care of, tiny Timing Change cover oil seep, and 1 x coolant hose that we never replaced because it's a bear to get to. Along with that, a fresh oil change and a general check-up...

She purrs along like she's supposed to, and I love driving her, but I don't have the heart to LS-swap her, since she's ALL Toyota and doing everything right. Someone needs a sorted rig, with EVERY major component gone through, and a lot of modern creature comforts added.

Thought I’d share a couple links to short videos I took for a few folks that have asked…

This is in my opinion the best bang for the buck vintage (pre-91) Land cruiser available for sale on any platform at this time

Just got back from Merriam Automotive and Peter basically said don’t do a thing. Drive it and enjoy it, he’d never go through the 12 hrs of labor to fix that oil leak, as small as it is (a couple drops when I park it), so I’m just gonna get a fresh oil change and do like he said and just drive it!

Fresh oil change this morning so I decided to get some pictures of the underside of this ol girl while we were at it… she is dusty AF… prob could use a rinse underneath for posterity sake. But there def isn’t any corrosion that needs addressing which is all I really care about.
