Looking for reputable repair shops who work on 40/60/80’s in panhandle area. Buddy In Freeport and found a local mechanic who told him “sure, we work on Jeeps…”not a great start.

A bit further afield than your geographical boundary but @cruisermatt has a good reputation. FWIW, "Freeport" to most of us would mean Freeport, TX or maybe Freeport, Bahamas. I am from the area and had to google Freeport to figure out why you were in Florida and your friend was in Texas. 😂

We work on Cruisers from that area all the time. All over the southeast really.

OTM in Birmingham might be more convenient.
They are solid as well.

Eagle Imports in Auburn, AL is a shop that works mainly on Japanese and European imports. The guys are not Cruiser specific but one of the owners has a couple of 60s, a 40 and my son @cruiserinsanity works there.

Funny thing is I’ll be moving to Santa Rosa Beach in the next five years and when I mentioned that to a fellow mud member, he thought it was Santa Rosa Beach California. So clearly we have not the best naming convention in our country these days.

@cruisermatt thanks for chiming in. What area are you located - or what area do you conduct all your wizadary-magic?

The nice suburb of Winter Park that is slowly being consumed by East Orlando

I should have mentioned them. They dropped and reinstalled the transmission on my FZJ75 and did a very good job. They have also worked on my 80 series (brake system all around). No complaints with either.

Ray T used to be active on here but he didn’t respond to the last thread like this I tagged him in. I might not have done correctly. He was in fortwalton, niceville, crestview area. I’ll go look for his username. He knows the area and cruisers.
Yota mafia is based somewhere near crestview I believe. They might not work on older stuff but they might be worth contacting for advice. I think it can be difficult for shops to make enough doing older vehicle work where trouble shooting can eat time up.
