I'll have an extra baofeng handheld too.

I've got a couple extra Baofeng HTs as well.

One option for those that are not time crunched was to head down to the Hot Springs ORP after we finish on Saturday.

I reached out to @YotaJosh and got this back....

Who all wants to do this?

Cost:

You would only need one day of fees paid to the ORV park. That is separate from the Ramble. I believe the one day, non membership rate is $30 per vehicle.

At the event we sell meals and shirts à la carte. Shirts are $15. Meals are $10. The meal is only on Saturday night. We plan on having extra shirts, but come Sunday, it might be slim pickings. We are over ordering this year with plans of having extras.

Wheeling:

Sunday wheeling is fine, and there is usually a few still hanging around, but most of us RLC people will be hitting the road pretty early Sunday after being there since Thursday.

Lodging/Camping:

Our event isn't usually a "fill the park - no vacancy" event, so there will probably be somewhere for you to camp. The ORV park office can reserve you a spot, or you can arrive and figure it out on site, and they can fit you into an overflow area (they have several).

I hope this answers your questions.

Have fun on the HWM!

Josh

I still have a couple extra gas cans I picked up on the deal at Costco if anyone still needs.

How slow are you going to drive? Oh yeah, no lockers.

Found some repeaters to use online at repaterbook.com. All showing on air currently and open.

2M repeaters (my preference since my 75W mobile rig is 2M only, HT is dual band but lacks the range)

@SammyT08FJ let me know where this stands now.
Honest answer is I don't know. It will depend on several factors. Trail conditions. Mechanical issues (I hope none) detours if water levels are high etc. (I will be able to push the pace the 2nd half since I already ran that once) We could be done Saturday early or Saturday night. The latest would be Saturday night because there are a few members that need to be back Sunday before 2. we ran this route from north to south and I can tell you we covered 90 miles off road in day and half. I don't know what the bottom 60 looks like. From what I understand that is the more challenging portion of the trail in some spots. So it may take a full day it may not. We are in land cruisers. :)

KE0CYS But am not going to make it. Anniversary weekend with Laurel though so all is good. Have fun and post pics.

BTW I just ordered some Mall Rated 4x4 stickers....I hope they will get here in time... @rockstate45

Well gents,
Sorry I can't join you all but the Willys is in pieces. When you start playing in that deep water just remember that fan blades turn into props and have been known to take out radiators. Don't know if a clutch fan would or not but it is a thought.

I think we have 1 or 3 open seats....

Google Maps puts the Circle H store in Jerusalem at about 5 and a half hours from my house. I probably can't get there before 1:30 unless we get a strong tailwind. Any chance we can push that back a little bit? Anyone interested in meeting at the usual TAC rally point (QT on 151st and 69) for a caravan?

If you want to go with us, Erik and I are headed down Wednesday evening, dropping trailer at airport, and then heading a half hour down into the forest to set up camp for the night. Get up in the morning and wander toward really point. Will be a late night but can take it slow and easy in the morning.
